The Phantom Vs. Kraven the Hunter

I'm really curious to see how the Kraven movie will do after Madame Web crashed and burned at the box office.  It will be interesting to see how Sony markets the film.  Will it strike a chord with audiences like the first Venom, or will it be another Morbius?

One second later, the Phantom is standing there, holding the spear that Kraven so "graciously" passed to him, and notes, "Not bad. I saw a spear like this 123 years ago."

And if you use X kind of wood, you get a better balance when throwing it.
So nice to see Aparo again. What makes them think Kraven is worth a movie? Look what they did to the Goblin. At least Sandman had some value, kinda.
Next movie will be SpiderGwen.

Actually, I found "Morbius" better than both Venom flicks put together!
I mean, aside from the inevitable tweaks here and there, the writers were still pretty faithful to the core of his comic book origin. And AMAZING SPIDER-MAN vol.1/#101 was the very first Spidey comic I ever bought and read!

As for Kraven? I still think they should tie in his origin with a film trilogy that would reintroduce the FF and also serve to introduce Patsy Walker, Greer Grant, the giant alien Tsiln and Omega Red.

Kraven is so successful a hunter because his quarries take one look at his costume and laugh themselves to death.

Hey! That'd be a perfect idea for the April Fool's Day cover. A laugh-off between Kraven in this outfit and Cosmic Boy in his pink translucent Grellian outfit!

With the Condiment King as judge and/or referee.

Now this is a fight I wouldn't mind seeing. Winner takes on Stalker from Batman Beyond.

well that’s really clever, i expect that Jon Sable and Congo Bill would also appear in the Tale…

Curare would mount Stalker's head on her wall faster than you can "Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje!"

@Simon: I'd rather see Jon Sable meet Silver Sable. If only to see which of them would be wearing translucent unitards.

My prediction is that Kraven will be about halfway between Venom and Morbius in terms of box office success.

(Personally, though, I think that both Morbius and Madame Web are unfairly maligned, though to be fair most of the problems aimed at the latter film are present -- they're just not as bad as complainers are saying.)

@Bob Greenwade: Amen! :-)

and Mr Walker ducks below the spear then the game is over. Kraven belongs where he was in the sixies, on the floor of Spider-man's kit. He's not worth the price of popcorn.

Especially when you consider how even the smallest bucket of popcorn is now pricier than a bargain matinee ticket for an adult!

Above anonymous, perhaps the judges for your costume competition could be Tyroc and Wonder Man

@Anon933: he's referring to STF #2335.

@Anon742: Wonder Man's original outfit, as a henchman of the Silver Age Baron Zemo, was a far worse crime against fashion. A felony compared to the misdemeanor of that verdant version of Adam Strange's uniform.

With this discussion, we really need for Edna Mode to headline a 100-page spectacular.

And let's not leave out the Sixth Doctor or Captain Ultra. Or the Golden Age Green Lantern (with his clearly red shirt). Or a certain male LSH founder in an awkwardly skin-revealing outfit.

I have plans for Edna.

Didn't her brother Alan used to make pie toppings?

@Anon1017: He sometimes decorated cookies, too. ;-D

Somewhere in my Pinterest board there's a photo of an Edna Mode cosplayer, turning up her nose at One Punch Man's cape.

Whereupon, she got One-punched in the nose?
