Swamp Thing and Storm

This is not a team-up that I would instantly think of, but when I decided on the hook, the story potential really appealed to me.  It would be interesting to see Ororo enter this new stage in her evolution.

I was happy to use the artwork of the amazing Steve Bissette here.  I was lucky enough to pick up a sketch by him many years ago:

Storm did role-play at being a life-giving goddess of rain at the time Professor X first recruited her for the New X-men. So, yeah; I could see her being metaphysically selected as some kind of new phytogenic elemental.

Interesting character in the artwork, btw! Sort of resembles a cross between Two-Face and Charlton's Midnight Philosopher(horror anthology comic host from the Seventies).

You do realize, of course, that you will now be required to do at least the next three covers that feature Storm with her in this new role, Ross?

Seeing Storm so vunerable like that is a great reminder of how human she still is.
The landscape is so lush....Ross did you have that existing already or did you need to design it?

It's a combo of 2 images.

Carycomic - the character in the sketch is Woodrue aka Jason Woodrue, the Floronic Man. who used to be an enemy of The Atom, appearing in the first issue of his series.

P.S.@ Harry: Floro still looks more like Freddy Kruger in that sketch.
