Iron Man and Robin

I'm a little surprised that I haven't done this pairing before.  I can see Tony Stark and Dick Grayson attending the same high society event when villains crash and they have to suit up, it feels like a natural story.  Plus, they look pretty cool together.

Coming tomorrow: STF #3800!

Good old Dick Grayson; "Russian" to the rescue!

Sorry, Ross. I just couldn't resist. :-)

Interesting pairing this time.

I mean personally I would see Bruce and Tony as Frenemies: they would keep up an act during public appearances, with Bruce likely trying to help Tony with his alcohol abuse, but their attitudes with superheroics would differ greatly and Bruce wouldn't approve of how Iron Man handles things, while Tony would view Batman as the vigilante that he is and would be determined to take him out.

Cue shenanigans when Bruce stays one step ahead of Tony in figuring out his secret identity.

What does this have to do with Tony and Dick? Well, perhaps an early team up with Iron Man exposes Dick's secret identity to Tony which Tony, who isn't as bad as Bruce makes him out to be, you know paranoia, would keep Dick's secret identity as Robin a secret, at least until he can gain some leverage against Batman.

But by the time of the SuperTeamFamily Civil War, Dick would've already left Batman to become Nightwing and teamed up with Iron Man frequently. Maybe urged by Tony to reveal his secret identity to the public. It likely doesn't work out the same way for Dick as it would Peter, but considering that ended up with Peter seeking out THE DEVIL to save Aunt May, I do wonder how it would play out with Dick...

Doubtless, the same way it worked out with Spyral. A mixed blessing, at best!

Personally, I found Spyral to be a rather lame Bat-agonist. Kind of like Professor Hugo Strange with delusions of Rorschach-hood!

Another superb cover. Really nice job!

Ah, that's right; there's that old Bruce Wayne - Tony Stark rivalry. I bet Iron Man would have mixed feelings with Robin entering the fray. Especially when it looks like the Boy Wonder is punching Way above his weight class here, and could just become a potential victim getting in the way.

Or if Robin helps makes a difference, would Tony look at him as being like Peter Parker or, worse, like Steve Rogers? Yet, Richard might have things to deal with either villian properly.
(Too bad Robin already teamed with Cap. That might be classic.)

KG Beast was originally known for a single story and even killed off until recently. It is cool to see Dick Grayson as Robin face villains that debuted after he changed identities.

@Det. Tobor: Robin would probably use a small white phosphorus charge attached to a small lump of plastique (titanium is non-magnetic, but can be damaged by temperatures in excess of 400 degrees Celsius) to disable T-man's armor. While a standard flash-bang grenade might slow down the KGBeast long enough for Iron Man to deck him with a gauntlet-reinforced right hook before turning his attention back to T-man!
