With Marvel getting ready to introduce The Fantastic Four and their roster of related characters and HBO Max looking to explore the Justice league Dark side of the DCU, I wonder which of these two we will see in a movie first? The Surfer was one aspect that the Fox FF movies got right, so Marvel is probably thinking of a way not to repeat his previous introduction - I still think a solo movie might be the way to go. The Spectre kind of had a cameo on the short lived Constantine series, but he truly has not made a proper live action debut. Frankly, my preference would be for him to get his own feature as well!

Since the Judgement on Jupiter has been seen to, it would not be unlikely for Spectre to do a follow up with the Surfer. And since he has encountered Galactus and Nightmare already, how about "a date with Dormammu"? Classic poster type cover.
Jim Corrigan made his guest spot in Arrow's Crisis on Inf Earths right before Oliver 'inherited' the mantle and became a SPECTRE like Hal Jordan did. Talk about not looking the part.

Although, if Galactus is _not_ the imminent danger, then who or what is? Considering that Norrin Radd was already judged on Jupiter (and apparently acquitted), I have to wonder if those rocky fists represent the start of a "Grudge Match With The Stone Men of Saturn!"

@Tobor: Maybe this cover is more of a "you will cooperate!" situation. Oliver looked more the part of the Spectre than either version of Jim Corrigan ever did (through no fault of either of the latter).
@Ross: I'd still love to see a murder mystery cover with Alfred Pennyworth, Edwin Jarvis, Cadbury, Kato (Green Hornet), Smithers (the Lodge family's butler in Archie), Beeker (from Robert Asprin's Phule novels), Cogsworth, Passepartout, et al.
@Anon: Given that STF #3290 shows that Blade obviously failed to kill Elvira, in #2600, I can second her being used by Smiley for some nefarious plot.
Having the next issue coalesce this and the previous into one cosmic Spectre/Galactus/Watcher/Deadman story would be quite cool. The two just feel like similar scope, and calling for a tie-in.
This talk of Evil Ernie's smiley-face button has me wishing we could see him share a cover with the Comedian.
Or, at the very least, Prez Rickard's arch-enemy.
