Metamorpho and Speed Racer in: "A Double Date in Daytona!"

He may have permanent C-Lister status, but Metamorpho has always been at or near the top of my favorite superhero list (It shifts from time to time but usually includes Batman, The Thing, The Spectre, Elongated Man, The Beast, Deadman, Spider-Man and of course, Rex Mason).  His appearance and power set have kept him from ever making a live action appearance, but I have to believe that movie magic both practical and CGI is at a place where it would be possible to convincingly bring him to live action.  If there's concern about his marketability, then just make a Batman and the Outsiders movie!

Metamorpho and Speed Racer first met in STF 1946...

It was the Superman of the early 1960s for me. Not just his power set, but also his personality. In one, where he is not under a yellow sun, he says. he is inspired by the non super members of the JLA. That wasn't common.

If cgi can give Martian Manhunter full life then Metamorpho shouldn't be far behind.

But can they show him turning into a car? Because THAT would be impressive! :)

For those interested in wanting to see a serious version of It's a bird, It's a plane, it's Superman set in 1939, (with a tall, strong willed, intelligent black woman playing Lois Lane) here are some nice samples

The person who redid the show is Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. A screenwriter, and comic book writer known for Marvel Comics and for the television series Glee, Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. He is Chief Creative Officer of Archie Comics.

More love is needed for Ultra the Multi-Alien, though.

@Daviticus: if they can do it with giant robots, why not a transmuted soldier-of-fortune? Speaking of which; when are we gonna get a Speed Racer/Transformers team-up?

If WB's DC division can ever stop wrecking trains, they probably could even manage a Metamorpho solo movie. On the other hand, there's not much to stop ol' Rex from having a story arc on The Flash, especially with Ralph unceremoniously dropped out of the picture.

@Bob: that's assuming they have anymore "vroom" for him on the list of recurring characters.
