Now that Sam Wilson is the official Captain America of the MCU, it has been announced that his story will continue in a new movie. Marvel seems to have a lot on their plate and are only just now getting to some of the movies and shows that were pushed back by the pandemic, so it's probably going to be a while before we hear anything more about that project, though. If the action is as good as in the final episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it should be a fun movie whenever it comes out.

I just hope Marvel Films doesn't count on all movie-goers having access to the streaming series. LucasFilm and 20th Century Fox went to a lot of trouble, presenting that "Black Sun Rising" story arc (the debut of Prince Xizor and Dash Rendar, among others) as a multi-media thing. Only to have it permanently demoted to "non-canonical legend" status!
English translation: I hope Sam Wilson's movie debut, as Captain America, can be enjoyably sat through as a stand-alone story without any foreknowledge from the Internet show being mandatory.

The Falcon teamed up with Green Arrow against Hammerhead in STF #2837. And, in STF #3207, the Falcon teamed up with Red Tornado against a bunch of creatures that looked like escapees from Mokkari and Simyan's Evil Factory! Now, Reddy and GA have brought a bunch of other Justice Leaguers to Sam Wilson's neighborhood. But, what for? And why is there presence regarded as more of a liability than an asset?
My guess: Hammerhead has joined forces with Intergang! And they're holding one of Sam's loved ones as a hostage to insure no superheroic interference, whatsoever.
Who says Sam Wilson will headline the Captain America movie? It could feature a past adventure of Steve Rogers set after he went back in time with the Infinity gauntlet. Who knows what changes he made to the timestream in fact he probably helped create the multiverse. Maybe he caused the first multiversal war mentioned in Loki.
Or the movie could involve a Steve Rogers from the multiverse. I'm sure Sam Wilson will be involved but I bet it's a Steve Rogers movie.
I don't think we need to worry about "you have to see the TV show to understand the movie" in the MCU. Kevin Feige has already stated in an interview that he plans to keep his writers and directors mindful of that. And it's already happened in practice, with a certain character from one of the TV shows appearing in the Black Widow post-credits scene -- one didn't need to see either appearance to understand the other.
And I've said this before, though possibly not here: I've never felt so proud of a fictional character as when Sam, in the final episode of TFATWS, said, "I'm Captain America." And that final "big speech" of his was truly inspirational, in part because the writer and director worked with Anthony Mackie to make sure it was something he could say from the heart -- it felt real because it was real. And that line, "My only power is that I believe we can do better," is one for the record books, as well as one that I personally can relate to.
My only comment on today's cover is regarding Sam's costume. I'm not sure I've ever seen this specific costume before, and if I have there's a detail that escaped me: the simulated talons on his gloves and boots. Somehow that manages to be both silly and cool at the same time... though I'd bet that Anthony Mackie is glad he never had to wear that!
They can summarize the show in a 15 second prologue in the movie -- Steve handing the shield to Sam ("It's yours now"), a few seconds of the montage of Sam working with the shield in the forest, then Sam in the new Cap uniform ("I'm Captain America").
And I know that Natalie Portman has said she'd done with the MCU, but it would be fun to have her become Lady Thor and we get that All-New Avengers kiss.
@Jay: Natalie Portman has been confirmed for some time now as Jane Foster/Lady Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder.
And I don't think even that much would be needed. A couple of shots from the TFATWS finale during the MARVEL opener and a little well-written exposition should handle things fine. But like Ross pointed out, there's plenty of time for that; we may even see a second season of CAATWS before the movie.
I think this is a good group for him to interact by SURPRISE.
Hawkman probably has advantage in a fight with the Falcon unless Falcon attacks Hawkman. I am surprised Falcon and Hawkman have not have a solo adventure and I could see Hawkman being very jealous if Falcon had one with Hawkwoman.
Falcon doesn't appear to have wings in this image so he could keep up with Hawkman.

In the Marvel canon, the costume version with claws was before the one with wings.
Why would they name a character who didn't have wings or could fly The Falcon? Also, if he was created to be Captain America's partner why not call him The Eagle to fit the patriotic theme.

@Simreeve: oh! You mean, the hawk hooks. I think they got rid of those, so Greer Grant wouldn't resemble a copy-Cat with her grappling cat's claws!
@TC: just a stab in the dark. But, maybe, because Sam's feathered friend Redwing was supposed to be a falcon?
@Anonymous: I initially thought he was supposed to be an Australian red goshawk (Erythrotriorchis radiatus). But, now, I wonder if he might actually be a natural-occurring hybrid of red-tail and red-shouldered hawk? Possibly foster-parented by bald eagles!*
