Robin in The Marvel Universe
Loki was a fun series on Disney+. I actually think it could haven been tightened up a bit, there was a lot of talking between the scattered action scenes. Still, it was always interesting to see Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson interacting with one another. My favorite episode was the one with all of the multiple Lokis, including Alligator Loki and Richard E. Grant doing a wonderful take on Classic Loki. Plus we got to see cameos by Throg and the Thanos Copter! The final episode with Jonathan Majors chewing the scenery was an intriguing introduction to Kang, but I am looking forward to Majors' take on a more sinister variant of the villain in future appearances. The series didn't wrap up as neatly as I was expecting, but that's no big surprise since there is a season two on the way.

Uh-may-zing!
I'm not sure why... maybe it's because of Burt Ward's version on TV growing up, but any story with Robin in it - I'm there. Wacky like Spider-Man with The Batman and serious like The Dark Knight with his buddies in Teen Titans...
I would wonder how Dick, Garth, Wally, Roy and Donna would fare against that trickster Loki...?
How would Loki do against the Titans? He'd have to keep his "Ass-guarded".
i remember this picture of robin it's from an old coloring book( wish i still had mine....lol)....great cover....it looks like it goes together.
My answer to the titular question: Because Doom has taken him over using what Maxwell Smart would call "the old Ovoid astral transmigration trick!" With a mere Doombot acting as a (life model) decoy for the other super-villains.
My theory is much simpler than Cary's: Robin himself is an LMD. And how many of these villains' heroic foes have we seen Dick teamed up with on these pages, whether alone, with Batman, or as a member of the Titans? How many of those instances could he have been this LMD instead?
And indeed, I suspect that the next 10 years or so of the MCU will have Jonathan Majors' teeth marks all over it.
(And I'm still hoping workable images exist for a photo-cover team-up between John "Spartan" Diggle and Alligator Loki!)
And I remember the villains from the cover of 1976's "Bring On The Bad Guys", third in the Origins set of Marvel Trade Paperbacks, after "Origins of Marvel Comics" and "Son of Origins of Marvel Comics".
and speaking of coloring books does anyone remember the 60's superboy coloring book ? (i had on of those too....lol)
All of Batman's 60's retro tech for one thing. Now there's a handicap!
@betajoe: I only remember the C.C.B.B. coloring book bearing the likenesses of Dick Van Dyke, Sally Ann Howes, and Gert Frobe (among others)!
@Bob and Cary: my explanation's the simplest one of all. This is the Dick Grayson of Earth Three! Unwittingly teleported across time and space, by Professor Nichols, to Doc Doom's Latverian lair.
@Anonymous: I don't know. I think Bob's hypothesis, about an LMDG (Life Model Dick Grayson), has more merit.
So if the DCU actors were cast in MCU movies, who should they play? (No recasting already filled roles).
My picks:
Henry Cavill - Captain Britain
Ben Affleck - Mister Sinister
Gal Gadot - Jessica Drew Spider-Woman
Jason Momoa - Hercules
Ezra Miller - Nightcrawler
Margot Robbie - Sue Storm Invisible Woman
Will Smith - Bishop
Henry Cavill as Hyperion, Gal Gadot as Power Princess, Ben Affleck as Nighthawk, John Wesley Ship as Blur* and Serinda Swan as Arcanna.
*Changed from "Whizzer" (for understandable reasons).
@Cary: cheater-cheater-cheater!
@Cary: Why John Wesley Shipp, and not Ezra Miller or Grant Gustin?
PS: Speaking of Serinda Swann, I'd still love to see a Medusa/Zatanna team-up here.
Or Medusa and Entrapta having a "spa day."
@Bob: I'd want one of them to play Spider-man!
I would say The Rock for Namor, but I think that role has been filled. So I think The Rock should be Deathlok.
The actor who played Spock in the recent STAR TREK REBOOT trilogy could play Namor. He'd just have to be non-self conscious about wearing a green speedo.
I imagine that the MCU will have Namor in some version of his black costume with the bat wings. Of course there could be one scene of him at home in the speedo just as a nod to the comics, but mostly I expect the black suit or some Jae Lee armor.
Or maybe green tights with an orange shirt of chainmail? ;-)
@Cary: Then pick one for Blur, so the other can play (yet another) Spider-Man.
@Anon@4:22: That actor's name is Zachary Quinto, who previously played Sylar on TV's Heroes. And yes, I think he'd be OK as Namor, though my preference there is still Keanu Reeves.
I pick JWS for Blur and Grant Gustin as Spidey.
Ezra Miller is already "cast" as Nightcrawler.
Since when?
Half-seriously, by Kramden, back on July 26. :-)
@Carycomic: oh!
*Insert embarrassment icon, here.*
@Ross: I can't get over how much this resembles Dan Brereton's artwork! Makes me wish there was a real-world crossover pitting his Nocturnals against Lord Pumpkin (from the Ultraverse). Perhaps you could do one for Halloween 2023?
