The Flash and Iron Man in: "Monkey Suit!"

It will be interesting to see how The Mandarin is handled in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.  The bait and switch that Marvel pulled with an actor portraying the villain in Iron Man 2 was one of the few times that fans really had a problem with a choice made for the MCU.  I'm glad there's a second chance to get him done right.

The Flash and Iron Man have shared adventures on the blog before - They were last seen together in STF #2546, and had a two-part tale that began in STF #1164 and concluded with their future counterparts in STF #1165...

Mandarin: "...you will build my partner's new armor."

Iron Mandrill (from the MSU*): "I might have something to say about that!"

*Marvel Simian Universe.

Maybe Grodd and Mandy want to brainwash Cy-Gor.

@Anon: why not? He's one Image character long overdue for depiction, here. :-)

Grodd is sitting in a lower throne? A countdown is not even needed for the break.

OK, Mandi is amplifying Grodd's brainwaves to neutralize Flash's use of his powers.
Tony needs to figure out where the controlling units and projections are. Could an E.M.P. bomb affect Mandi' s rings? What is their power source, the wearer?

@Horsefeathers: Not entirely untrue. I figure Grodd is biding his time, letting the Mandarin take the driver's seat for this new armor, while planning to take over the lead once that armor's in place.

@Ross: Some time we need to see Grodd on the Planet of the Apes. (Another character who might be fitting there would be Chewbacca.)

And it's too bad you're not a fan of Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys (full episodes can be found on YouTube as well as the Watch Cartoons Online website). There would be some wild possibilities for that team on this site; I'd probably start with the Guardians of the Galaxy, but anything simian or space-based could be done.

(Similar story with the Road Rovers. I've been wishing I could see them together with the Space Monkeys since before this blog existed -- they have similar mixes of adventure and wit. And the Rovers with TMNT would be awesome!)

How would Grodd treat Mr Ed?

Ed? I was thinking of the wizards of Oz, Yz, and Id.

Actually, Mr. Ed could be a good match for Changeling /Beast Boy.

"How would Grodd treat Mr. Ed?"

Like steak tartar du cheval (probably).

@my namesake from 7:46?

Comet the Super Horse would be a better fit.

Throw in Cyclone (Two-Gun Kid's horse), Banshee (19th century Ghost Rider's horse) and Walter Farley's Black Stallion?

And you have...The Equintet!

I was thinking more in terms of personality and interaction. Did Comet ever talk?

Not that I'm trying to be a neigh-sayer

Bob Greenwade said...

@Anon@8:31: Comet only spoke in human or centaur form, not as a horse -- though he did think at human-level intelligence regardless of his external shape.

He was telepathic in full equine mode, too.

@Anon 7:46 PM: Did you mean the Warlock of Ys?

With the mention above (which I only just noticed) of the Wizard of Id, I think it'd be interesting to see him interacting with someone on here. I have no idea who, though, unless it's Mr. Mxyzptlk or Spaceman Spiff.

Sir Rodney of Id, however, would fit right in with my oft-requested Klutz Commandos (Captain Klutz, Awkwardman, Frog-Man, the Tick, Hong Kong Phooey, Inspector Gadget, Joxer the Mighty, Greatest American Hero, Super Goof).
