Black Racer Vs. Thanos

One change that the MCU made for Thanos was his motivation.  He wanted to eliminate half of all life in the universe to restore his twisted sense of balance, while in the comics, he was trying to impress the living embodiment of Death, who he was obsessed with.  I can understand why the change was made, that might have been a tricky concept to pull off.  Then again, Cate Blanchett's Hela was realized perfectly, perhaps the Goddess of Death could have taken Lady Death's place.

I always enjoy seeing the Really Big Bads here. And the Black Racer (looking much racier than I remember from Kirby's Fourth World) dovetails smoothly with Thanos's obsession.
I really liked your Hela notion, Ross. Pity the MCU don't have you on a retainer as a consultant.

Looks fantastic as usual! Black Racer has such a neat look - I've always liked him.

I noticed a slight typo on "sentient" - not sure how difficult it is to change.

Thanks for creating these every day! I'm always in awe how you keep up the pace.

There's a fan theory that somewhere in the MCU's section of the multiverse, Thanos and Hela are a couple, and we'll be seeing that realized in some future multiverse-related movie or TV episode.

As for Black Racer, I think it might be interesting to see Lady Death take him on as her Herald, in the same way as Galactus has his heralds. It would be especially fitting since Black Racer's first appearance here was pursuing the Silver Surfer.

You make a lot of sense, Ross. As does Davejonz!

If you worked for Marvel, even as a part-timer (the same way Snood999 now does), we--the comic-reading public--might've long since gotten an intercompany crossover, between Marvel and Chaos! Comics, featuring Thanos vs. Evil Ernie.*

*The two of them fighting over the affections of the latter publisher's Lady Death.

A thought: If Buzz Lightyear fought Thanos, would that be "Infinity and Beyond!"?

It looks like this Black Racer was manifested from Gazelle (the assistant femme fatale from "Kingsman: The Secret Service").

@ Bob Greenwade. If you used another Marvel cosmic character, you could title it To infinity and beyonder!

Bob Greenwade said...

@Isaac: I did consider that, but I thought it was too cheesy. When you say it, though, it does seem to work. The only other downside is that the Beyonder hasn't been on the blog yet, and I suspect it's because he's just too hard to handle.

How about Thanos vs. a xenomorph queen?

Or maybe even (as inspired by one of these anti-robotic security precautions) one of those statuesque Weeping Angels?

I'd rather see Thanos vs. Mace Windu. With the winner taking on...Darkseid!

That would set him free you Idiot! This is not the Thanos I was looking for.
