As we reach the mid-point of this 5-Part Tale, we see that Black Adam is using his cosmically charged power to tear through Earth's Mightiest Heroes! One member of the team thinks they have what it takes to face him solo, though. Who is it, and are they correct? Make sure you come back tomorrow for Part Four!

Hmmmm, more and more intriguing…
Is squirrel girl an avenger?
She was a Great Lakes Avenger
Thor is too obvious.... I'm going with Living Lightning.
I say it's the Scarlet Witch. Her Earth-199999 counterpart kicked butt in DS/MOM!
After Part 5 is posted, how about Daredevil vs. the Hunter Rose version of Grendel?
I’m guessing the cosmic powered mystery Avenger is going to be Carol Danvers as either Ms Marvel or, more likely, Captain Marvel. That seems fitting for the Avenger who would go up against Black Adam, doesn’t it?
Perhaps part 5 will be Black Adam vs Captain Marvel (Danvers) and Captain Marvel (Bateson).
Nah! If the Scarlet Witch from "...Multiverse of Madness" can wipe the floor with Capt. Marvel-838, then not even Carolyn Danvers -STF would stand a chance!
If, however, Black Bolt (under Deadman's influence) were to quasi-sonically yell "Shazam!"...
Ross pretty strongly hinted that it was going to be yet another Avenger going up against BA on tomorrow's cover.* A semi-forgotten reservist, probably. And the only Reservist Avenger I know, with BA's cosmic power level, is...Sersi of the Eternals!
*Plus, Black Bolt is King of the Inhuman. And even just his whispering the word "Shazam!" would result in a Pyrrhic victory for the Avengers.
My guess, actually, would be Iron Man, especially since my other two guesses (Captain America and Photon) are already on this cover.
I have to agree with the suggestion of Scarlet Witch here... unless it's going to be something really weird, like Hawkeye powered by Captain Universe, or Doctor Strange wielding Mjolnir.
Then again, there's always the Sentry...
I'm recalling the cover of DC Comics Presents #34. King Kull, having defeated Superman and the Marvel Family, declares that no one can challenge him, but an off-panel voice replies "No one but me!"
That off-panel figure turned out to be Hoppy the Marvel Bunny. So in that spirit, I'm predicting either Rocket Raccoon or Squirrel Girl.
Has Squirrel Girl ever teamed up with Ch'p the Green Lantern, here?
See STF #644 (copyright Jan. 2014).
Twins fall out... Why is Adam annoyed with Subby? I thought STF had already established a relationship there. Or is it a Romulus/Remus type rivalry?
only one stupid enough to try at this point is Hawkeye …
we will find out soon…
@Davejonz: given the pointy ears, I'd say more like...Romulan/Remus.
[Steals a cookie as he shows himself out.]
@Davejonz and Anon207: I take it you're both alluding to STF #534 (copyright Sept. 2013)?
@Carycomic, just checked, STF #534 it is.
Adam tells Subby that they are brothers, "separated for almost a century."
The title was "Sins Of The Twins." But it looks as if joining Galactus has wiped the memory from Adam's mind...
But I'm sure not from Ross's...
That was just Sivana messing with them.
@Ross & Davejonz: Most likely, with the aid of Mr. Mind's mesmerizing minion Evil-eye.
All I could think about was, as Namor was flying through the air he's thinking, "Huh, that is one good looking guy - wonder if he's my cousin...? I think I know of an actor who could play either of us..."
Unfortunately, the casting director then got Ryanreynolditis, and said: "Nah! Let's go with a blue-skinned Mayan Indian with a bone-pierced nose, instead."
:-(
@Anon743: Personally, I thought Ryan Reynolds was far better as Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) than he was as Deadpool! But, evidently, I'm a minority of one.
"The Herald King Part 3"
Summary: The story opens in flashback as Hercules remembers granting a small portion of his power to the wizard Shazam to create the mystic lightning bolt that would one day power the Marvel Family. But he was later horrified by the dishonorable acts of Teth-Amon and vowed to teach the arrogant anti-hero a lesson. Centuries later and Hercules watches as Black Adam, now mad with Cosmic Madness, claims his "rightful" place as the Herald King. Despite knowing he will lose against the now super charged Black Adam, Hercules grabs his mace and charges into combat to bring the power of Olympus down upon the mad king of Quirac. Black Adam calls for his lightning bolt to strike at Hercules, only to find that the bolt has granted Hercules temporary powers of Zeus. "Fool, I am the son of Lightning," Hercules shouts, "And thou shall learn the folly of hubris." The Avengers can only look on as Black Adam and Hercules begin a battle shakes the city.
Elsewhere, Billy Batson and the Silver Surfer have discovered that the Cosmic Plague that drove Galactus mad with hunger is part of a failed experiment by Darkseid to recreate the ultimate nullifier, forcing the two heroes to journey to Apokolips.
