I would love to see a Defenders movie, but I seriously doubt that it will happen in my lifetime...
@Harry: I'm afraid I have to echo you and Ross' skepticism concerning a Defenders movie faithfully based on the original mid-1970's comic. After what Rian Johnson did to TLJ, I don't think any of the vast majority of Hollywood producers/directors/writers can be relied upon not to bastardize such an adaptation for their own "artistic purposes."
An offense to the movie-going public that should be punishable by permanent revocation of such "creative license."
@Ross: Great set-up, Ross! The ensuing action scene between the the Hulk and Ultra-Humanite, alone, would be worth shelling out sixty cents for this issue. A perfect ode to when Old Jade Jaws used to go mano-a-mano with Xemnu the Living Titan!

A proper Defenders movie could happen in Phase Seven, if the fandom makes enough noise for it. And, as you say, enough of the characters from the classic lineup are in place for it. Even if Bruce loses being "Smart Hulk," his Hulk persona can now be reasoned with, so he'd be in good position. As for Valkyrie, she currently has to deal with the situation created at the end of Secret Invasion, and Namor is hiding from most of the surface world (which would also affect any other Talokanil), so those things will need to be resolved somehow for them to be a part of things. And, what the heck, other characters from the classic non-team could be introduced to the MCU, such as Gargoyle.
As for today's cover, Johnny Thunder does seem like he'd be a good addition to the Defenders lineup, even if it's only short-term. And the fight between Hulk and Ultra-Humanite would be extra interesting if Bruce is in "Smart Hulk" mode; then we'd have to figures of great brains and great brawn going at it. I think they'd be closely matched, though; as smart as Bruce is, I think the Ultra-Humanite has him as outclassed intellectually as Hulk has U-H outclassed in raw strength. The Thunderbolt would be needed to decide the match.
say you the Thunderbolt is a little crazy, the wishes Johnny makes generally come right for the wrong reason,
so the Defenders might be in more trouble than they realise…
Contracts would make It too expensive...so, She-Hulk. Everyone would be replaced but it would still be the same name..like the X-Men.
If UH Plans well, probably has a strength absorbing ray set up near by. Goes for the kill quickly.

Personally, if a comics-faithful depiction of the Defenders is unrealistic, I'd prefer Ross' live-action line-up from STF #2118.*
