I'm not sure why the DC movies keep trying to give us new badass, no-nonsense Supergirl variants when there's already a perfectly good one to use - Power Girl. She gets no love outside of the comics for some reason. Sure, we've seen Rogue on the big screen before, but she wasn't exactly the sassy Southern fireball we know from the comics - let's hope her next onscreen iteration gets her personality correct.

Your analysis of Power girl goes for the small screen, too. I was hoping the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths, or its aftermath, would bring her to us, but no luck. Her aspect as a woman who is the last survivor of her universe makes her unique among Supergirl variants, in a way that, if written well, I'd find interesting and compelling.
As for Rogue, I suspect we'll be seeing her introduced into the MCU about the time that Brie Larson decides she's ready to leave the role of Carol Danvers.
If "The Marvels" tanks at the box office, that might occur sooner than any of us expects.
I'm guessing it's the chest. I don't think Hollywood has ever wanted to treat a larger-chested woman like she has a brain, nevermind being powerful and cool.
Comedian Rita Rudner said it best: "Big chests on women don't make them less intelligent. Rather, it's big chests on women that make _men_ less intelligent!"
The way the comic movies are now Power Girl would be a flat chested bald transvestite.
There's a new question. If a woman were made into a man how would he look at big chested women? Then again, do regular women go weak knee if they see a six foot six guy? Or is that different?
Off topic: How about Daredevil's old foe, the Owl, versus the heroic Owl from Gold Key's short-lived 1960s comic?
Or if the latter is too hard to find pix of, how about either of the Nite Owls from Watchmen?
