The Avengers and Batman & The Outsiders

Sure, JLA/Avengers was a dream come true and X-Men Vs. The New Teen Titans was great, but I wish Marvel and DC could have found a way for these two teams to meet.  Especially if that meant that we could have had Jim Aparo on art chores depicting Earth's Mightiest Heroes.  I've only seen a couple of Marvel hero sketches by him and I always hoped to see more of his interpretations.

It's not even a special but boy is it!! A crowd scene unlike most. And the Demon Three as well? Right back to the 1960s. Take that 1955, Aparo is front and center on stage. Congratulations Ross, your talent is showing.

Let me guess: in the Ross-verse, the Demons Three were imprisoned in some black hole by the mysterious Timeless Ones. And, somehow, Graviton was manipulated into using his powers to free them. But, who was the secret mastermind?

My money's on Mordramamu...looking to get un-amalgamated (a side-effect of his defeat in STF #3546).

I remember the Demons Three from the JLA two-parter way back when. They were pretty scary for a ten year old.

At this point, I suspect that any DC/Marvel pairing that hasn't already happened will be a while in coming. It seems that each of the two has a different barrier to playing well with others. That said, if your STF were an actual published comic, you can bet that this pairing would be nigh-inevitable.

I do recall an early JLA story with Felix Faust and the Demons Three (it may have been the trio's debut). It seems odd to me that neither Felix nor the Demons have been opposed by Doctor Strange on this blog, but I'm sure that oversight will be rectified before long.

There was a great JLA-JSA crisis team up with the LSH involving the Demons Three, two giant-sized issues (JLA 147-148). First I'd seen them but a great story! LSH was my favorite team, and I loved the crisis team ups, so a perfect combination.

And this faux cover should be enjoyed by fans here, it was done by one of my favorite cartoonists

Caanan Grail does Max Overacts, which I think is better than Calvin and Hobbes.

Interesting team-up. But what about another DC/Marvel team up could be Young Justice and the New Mutants. Or the Pet Avengers and the Legion of Super-Pets. (I am mostly kidding on that second one)

@Anon@12:26: Well, I wasn't kidding when I suggested the Pet Avengers and the Legion of Super-Pets several months ago!

@Bob: #3700 comes out on or around June 4. Maybe Ross will do such a cover, then.

As for those mysterious Timeless Ones; I wonder if their individual names could be Calythos, Uthool, and Nyorlath?

As a kid I loved the Champions (Marvel's) and mistakenly assumed they were going to be the next big team, outshining even the Avengers. I mean they did take on Pluto and Godzilla, after all. I'd love Marvel & DC to have them (1970's version) in a crossover and think the Outsider's (Early 80's version) just might be the perfect team for it. But after all these decades, I won't hold my breath. Great cover by the way; it really made me have to think who would be best matched up with who.

There's no bigger fan of the mighty works of JIM APARO than me.

P.S.---any chance of a sequel to STF #359, someday?

You're more likely to see the debut of the Rabbiteers.

At least they'd be guaranteed a good reception. ;-)
