Every time I see Sean William Scott on a commercial for the new show Welcome to Flatch, I think of what a missed opportunity it is that he has not been cast as Guy Gardner for the in-development Green Lantern Corps series on HBO Max. I just think he has the perfect look for the role and has proven himself adept at action and comedy in his previous work. Finn Wittrock is the one who has actually landed the role, an actor that I am not familiar with. Let's hope he brings DC comics' favorite lovable jerk to effectively to life.

I liked Guy's WARRIOR era, mostly because I have trouble imagining ANY group, even the Sinestro Corps, trusting Guy to be a team player.

Hmmm! If Bulletman and Bullet Girl were trying to _prevent_ GG from becoming head of the Nova Corps (back in STF #3644), they evidently failed. Could Per Degaton have stolen the Nova-power-induction process from the Xandarian mainframe? And why have the number of comments not been in the usual double-digits? Have most of your usual readers been on Easter break, Ross?
As the last cover-sim with ten or more comments was the Saturday before Easter, I'd say...most likely, yes.
From what I can tell the vast majority of people who see my covers view them on Pinterest, Tumblr or another site reposting them rather on this actual blog. I'll see a cover get 50 comments on another site that only got 3 comments here.
Well, Ross, you deserve the comments here, where they belong.
Here's mine. First off, let me echo @Chris's comments. And add that your effort has really paid with a very arresting image - Guy's face dominating the bulk of the space like that, with the ticked off Nova in the top corner really catches the attention. Clever stuff.
But then there's your story notion. Sheer brilliance. Totally in keeping with Mr Gardener's character too. What a terrific story it would make.
On some parallel Earth right now I'm sure there's a version of me having paid his money and settling down to read it right now. Lucky alternate-me.
Meanwhile, progress on the development of the MCU Nova project continues at an unknown pace.
While the Nova Corps is (as I understand it) Marvel's answer to the Green Lantern Corps, the GLC was in turn inspired by E. E. "Doc" Smith's Lensmen novels, which (I checked) have been adapted to comics. I've read the first two books, and while they don't quite hold up to today's standards, they're still good enough to be considered classics. It'd be great to see them start to show up on the blog -- perhaps recruiting new members of appropriate candidates. They could start with one James Bartholomew Olson.
On another topic completely: What would you think of Iron Beetle vs. the Terminators? (I think Jaime would need that Stark tech to deal with that problem!)
Sean William Scott as James Bolivar "The Stainless Steel Rat" diGriz..... Hmmmm.
Well, I have to admit...he did a surprisingly good job playing Kar, one of the two successors to the title character (played by Chow Yun Fat) in "Bulletproof Monk." So, he would probably prove just as good at playing Harry Harrison's anti-hero.
I'm just concerned that the (as-yet hypothetical) screen writers would refuse to set the film in the 350th century a la the original stories. After all; there's no such thing as a 100% faithful adaptation in Hollywood!
