Power Man & Iron Fist and The Justice Society of America

Concluding our Three Part Epic, we see that the Heroes for Hire have successfully located and liberated the JSA - now the whole crew is going to have to deal with Immortus!  I'm looking forward to seeing an image of Hawkman in full costume from the upcoming Black Adam movie.  It has to be one of the toughest looks to pull off in live action, and I hope to finally see it done justice.  Then again, we're getting a bald Adam with no pointy ears, so who knows what changes will be made to Hawkman?

happy holidays & new year. What happened to Atom and Doc Mid-Nite? Since it's a Captain Marvel related movie, Carter will probably have more of an Egyptian god look.

Happy new year. all! Nice to see an all Byrne cover.

Re: Hawkman in the movies? I would suggest the costume designers initially give him the same style of mask he wore in his first Silver Age comic book adventure. That is; without the tufted feather look above his left and right ears! Those could be introduced later on, in a sequel.

Re: today's cover? I will hazard to guess that this is another one of Immortus' convoluted schemes to preserve the chrono-spatial integrity of the multiverse. An integrity threatened by the seemingly endless war between Kang and Degaton!

Happy New Year, Ross! And, remember; there's only 358 more shopping days till next Xmas. :-)

I, too, wish you a Happy New Year, Ross. I've just one question, though. Have you ever thought of depicting Kang or Doctor Who against that Silver Age JLA foe, the Lord of Time? To my knowledge, DC themselves have only used him twice!

Happy 2022! And what better way to observe the turning of the year than a time-travel story?

Wasn't it Kang who was the problem earlier? Immortus is basically the reformed Variant of Kang. So if Immortus brought the original JSA to our time, then he probably did it to foil the Kang that they were fighting in Part One.

Tobor has a valid question, though: What happened to Atom and Dr. Mid-Nite? The real-world explanation is probably that there weren't any suitable images to stick into this cover, but in-universe? Most likely they're in some other location, performing some act of sabotage against Kang (taking advantage of Atom's strength and Doc's dark-vision) while these heroes keep the big guy busy.

PS: A Beth Chapel/Kate Bishop team-up would not go amiss, if decent art can be found. Neither, I think, would a sequel to #2703, with Katherine McNamara and Hailee Steinfeld.

Wasn't familiar with Marvel's Immortus character. Thought at first the cover was a reference to Doom Patrol foe General Immortus.

Happy New Year to all!

Dr. Mid-Nite and The Atom are taking the picture, obviously!

Lord of Time's rare appearances are just what makes him a tough character to use.

@Ross: With Al Pratt operating the camera while Doc McNider points at his owl and says: "Watch the nocturnal birdie!"

Re: Atom & Dr. Mid-Nite:

I like my theory better. :P

@Ross, Bob, & Cary: actually, the Atom was sent back to STF #2597 (to be immolated by the Combustible Gang). While Dr. Midnite was sent to STF #3522(to be dealt with by Mysterio).

Or, more precisely, to be mutually erased by accidental physical contact with their temporal duplicates during those two confrontations! Sort of like positive matter colliding with anti-matter.

Sounds like a do-able scenario to me.
