Sad, but true, Ross. I still remember SPIDEY 3 with Tobey Maguire. I think the only reason those subway passengers pulled a Sergeant Schultz (after seeing PP's unmasked face) was out of sheer gratitude for having their collective keester saved!
Great cover --- love Isaac Christians as a character.
I wouldn't be surprised if a movie Dr. Fate has a helmet that shows his face.
Brent Stait's portrayal of Doctor Fate on Smallville was one of the most brilliant performances I have ever seen, and part of it was because we couldn't see his face. And Ryan Reynolds spent about half of Deadpool and a much larger portion of Deadpool 2 with his mask on, choosing to rise to the challenge of acting with little facial expression. Even so, there was a period where Doctor Fate wore a helmet covering only the upper half of the face, and I suspect that (as Alec suggests) either actor's or (more likely) director's vanity will call for that design... much to fan consternation (myself among them). If that doesn't happen, we probably can thank The Rock's fanboy mentality, most specifically his dedication to being true to the source material.
Ideally, the role should be played by someone who is mainly a voice actor who does live-action acting on the side -- a young version of Rob Paulsen or Kevin Michael Richardson. Michael Rosenbaum probably could do it, if he's willing to go the distance on the helmet.
@Anon: That actually was Spider-Man 2 (and I of all people am not going to be critical of a faulty memory). I got the impression, though, that the passengers "looking the other way" about Spidey's face out of gratitude and respect was much of the point of the scene, considering how much was built up before that about the public not respecting him. The unfortunate part of that is, it ended up setting a sad precedent about masks (the one under discussion here).
Hmmmm! I thought Dr. Fate had retired after STF #1631, in favor of Jericho Drummond becoming Dr. Voodoo (in STF #2929). But, the magical emergency with the erstwhile Isaac Christians apparently required him to come out of retirement.
Maybe a creative director could find someway to have both actor face and mask on scene. Kent Nelson (if that is who Dr. Fate is and I think Chris Evans would be an excellent Dr. Fate) and Dr. Fate are two different entities and should be played as so. I can see Kent Nelson having discussion with Black Adam and then fighting with Black Adam against whatever foe is in movie. There could even be discussion between Dr. Fate and Kent in battle ala Firestorm with Ronnie and the professor.
Maybe, just maybe... Beast Boy/Changeling could face Snowbird, since both can shapeshift into many different animal forms.
... Mayhap, the Beast could face the Tasmanian Devil.
... Perhaps, Negative Man could face Sunspot.
... Perchance, Raven, with her bird's shape black energy, could face the Phoenix in bird's form with cosmic flame.
... Belike, The Expansion Team could handle competition from Elasti-girl, Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) and Elastigirl, forming their own group.
... Peradventure, Squirrel Girl could count on the help of Ch'p (again!) +Chip 'n' Dale +Secret Squirrel +Alvin and the Chipmunks and Scrat.

About 10 years ago, in the old days of 'The Brave and The Bold', in his commemorative issue #100, Ross had the brilliant idea of 'Bat in the USSR', where, to face Superman Red Son, Batman had the assistance of a bunch of Russian heroes.
I loved that concept and, as we have the anniversary of this publication on June 13, I would love it if Ross revisits the concept - this time without Batman - creating a team of heroes based on their nationality.
... Supreme Soviets: Colossus + Red Star + Crimson Dynamo + Rocket Red + Magik + Black Widow (Yelena Belova, maybe?) + Winter.
... Rising Sun Samurai: Sunfire + Doctor Light (Kimyo Hoshi) + Samurai (Superfriends) + Katana + Rai + Colleen Wing.

@Paganini: Ross is right. That many links is really unnecessary. In fact, in that post there, I don't think more than one or two hyperlinks were even helpful, let alone needed. (The two exceptions that I could see were to the old B&B cover, and the link to Winter so we could know who that is.)
I apologize to everyone (especially Ross) and promise to police myself for links.
I add links only with the intention of those who read my comments can access the mentioned covers or those with the mentioned character. When there are no covers with this, the link goes to wikipedia or comicvine, where the reader can identify who I am referring to. How Bob Greenwade himself found the link to cover number 100 of 'The Brave ad The Bold', useful information and about the character StormWatch Winter, in my previous comment.
In addition to facilitating access to this information, the intention is also to promote the work of this site, as it encourages the reader to (re) visit Ross' beautiful work in various covers and previous meetings of the character mentioned in the link.
He never intended to create problems for the author or the readers, so I sincerely apologize.
I will continue with the links while eating my Snickers, but, noticing the large number of links, I will divide the comment into several smaller ones, avoiding exceeding the limit allowed by the blog.
