I remember watching the much-maligned Waterworld with Kevin Costner, and thinking about the possibilities. Not about the movie itself, it made very little sense - If land and soil was such a are commodity, why was everyone so dirty all the time? There were, however some impressive swimming sequences, especially when Costner's character would come swooping out of the water. It was the first time that I thought perhaps a live-action Aquaman would be doable. It took a few more decades, but Hollywood finally caught up!

Good, but isn't it time for another pairing of the King of Atlantis with his long lost twin brother, the King of Atlantis known as the Sub-Mariner?
(You could even throw in the Man from Atlantis this time.)
Aquaman was indeed quite a good movie, marred only by the presence of Amber Heard. Hopefully WB will have the good sense to execute the morals clause in her contract and recast Mera for the sequel.
For this cover, I think it's all quite well done visually -- as with so many covers, it looks like it was drawn this way from the start. I think I would've had Arthur proclaiming the creature's innocence ("...and I can prove it!"), but that's just me.
Interesting thought: Judge Dredd and (future-flung) Jonah Hex, with the former saying something along the lines of, "Yeah, I know you're innocent, but I gotta arrest you anyway!" Really, I think those two would make an interesting ongoing partnership.
Also, I second Davejonz' request.
Nice to see even this little snip of Don Newton art again. Perfect example of an artist who should have had more exposure even if he was around for over 30 years.
Even with a monster, you can always tell Aparo's art at a glance!
