Batman and The West Coast Avengers

I was a big fan of the first West Coast Avengers mini-series and the ongoing series that followed it.  The Avengers had included a lot of cool members over the years and the idea of a second team operating concurrently would allow more characters to be showcased.  Little did I realize what a trend that would start!  Now not only are certain characters diluted by multiple versions of them running around, entire teams have their own variants.  There are multiple versions of the Avengers, X-Men and the Justice League operating simultaneously and it's getting pretty crowded out there.  It used to be an honor to join the Avengers or the JLA... now it makes a character more unique if they've never been a member!

Dave sez,
Cool cover!

I tried getting back into The Avengers through trade paperbacks when Bendis relaunched it. But when it recently sub-divided and split into different sub-groups, I gave up.

I am sticking with Geoff Johns and Jim Lee on Justice League...as long as they are on the book...

The X-Men? They only need one book. Everything else shouls be a mini- or maxi-series.

You have to remember Ross that since the current DC relaunch, there are only two OFFICIAL Justice League teams. The opening Justice League story is taking place in the past and covering the post Flashpoint formation of the team. Future story lines will take place in the present, concurrent with Justice League International. Meanwhile, both teams are unaware of Justice League Dark. It is not officially sanctioned by either, and the members of that group don't even refer to themselves by that name.
Otherwise, I do agree with you about the rest of your comments, especially how they apply to current Marvel comic books.

Ah, but West Coast Avengers brought us that wonderful group the Great Lakes Avengers :-) I agree, two teams is reasonable, but not more than that (can you say Crisis of Too Many Teams?)

.....we're in the W's already? Is it too late to request a team-up with Zorro?

This is the T's! Zorro may well make an appearance one day.

How about Tigra vs Catwoman?

Tigra will be appearing on at least two upcoming covers that I can think of. As for whether they will include Catwoman, all I can say is stay tuned...

Didn't you already use this issue number, thirteen months earlier?

Numbering for my B&B and MTIO covers was random and many were repeated. I didn't start the sequential numbering until STF
