I think just putting these two in a room together would be interesting, given their complete opposite personalities. Having them forced to work side by side would truly make for a memorable tale.

How about Q and Mr. Mxyzptlk.
I'd still love to see Spock meet either Omni-Man or Invincible, due to the Grayson family connection
Anon - Stay tuned...
BigMike - Yes, that's an interesting connection!
I sense a Vulcan mind-meld in the near-future (after one of those infamous neck pinches, of course).
Something tells me Mirror Spock might find it easier dealing with the Joker's ill-logic.
I had been going to point out that Q was never interested in humanity before Picard, but then I remembered that this is the STFU, where things happen somewhat differently.
Big Mike's observation is interesting, and of course Nightwing is also a Grayson. Nightwing and Spock met in #2442, and adding a Viltrumite connection would make for an interesting twist -- especially if we were to find out that Amanda is descended from Mark!
Can Spock resist the temptation to go all Batman on the Joker, as if he were fighting his own inner emotional turmoil rather than an actual person (which he might even no longer think of the Joker as being for more than one reason)? I can just see him acting like he was undergoing pon farr and beating the stuffing out of the Joker just out of sheer frustration after a while, seeing as the Joker doesn't look like he's ever going to be even one bit of help.
Oh, and btw, Q must *really* hate Mr. Spock for some reason to do *this* to him.
Now THIS is a great idea! The most logical person in fiction meeting up with the most ILLOGICAL person in fiction! Even if Spock could convince the Joker to work together to escape; there is no doubt that they would DEFINITELY get on each other's nerves! Well done, Ross!
Now for a completely different point of view:.... Spock is aware of the mirror universe. He has delt with all kinds of life forms and changed to deal with them and the situation. Spock and Q have talked in the Alien Voices story many years ago. When Spock figures out Joker as Batman couldn't completely, he might just try to work without Joker anyway. This could be a great story.
The Joker HAS worked with others before when it suited him just that he will change unexpectedly making how long they will be able to work together unexpectedly.
Amazing!! What a combination! I feel sorry for the writer assigned to this story! It would seem a challenge to keep their characterizations accurate when placed in such a truly unique situation!! Good work!!
Also; wanted to add: Am I the only one mentally "hearing" the dialogue from this cover in Leonard Nimoy and Mark Hamill's voices?
NO JARED. You are not. Great cover combos here the last couple days..
Awesome matchup Ross! I hope you do a follow up to this cover. Reminds of when the Joker allied himself with the Shaper of Worlds in that old Batman-Hulk special team up from years ago. The only time Spock faced real madness was when he "accidentally" looked at the Medusan in TOS. And maybe during pon-far. Maybe Spock will take a chance, and follow his human intuition to survive, and maybe triumph in this crazy world.
@Bob & Mike: You know something? What you guys said made it just occur to me. Q might have arranged this unlikely twosome precisely _because_ Spock's mother is descended from Nightwing!
