Supergirl & Ms. Marvel and Daredevil

For the 13th appearance of The Danvers Twins, and the conclusion to this two-part tale, it was time to bring in the one hero in town immune to the Medusa effect.  Did you guess correctly?  I am always glad to feature this particular Supergirl costume on a cover.  Of all of he various looks over the years, I liked this one the best.

Frankly, I considered Daredevil _too_ obvious a choice for usage. I mean, yeah, his blindness would make him petrify-proof. But, how would it break the spell over Supergirl? Did he plan to make her look at her own reflection after zapping her with green k? She could fry him like bacon, with her heat vision, before he even got within range with a chunk of that stuff!

Unless, of course, you've got a part 3 planned where DD borrows Mandrill from the Suicide Squad.

@Anonymous: I doubt Amanda Waller would be foolish enough to recruit Mandrill into the Suicide Squad. Not when his pheromones might control even her!

@Ross: I loved this costume, too. It's the one she was wearing when I first started Adventure Comics in the pre-Bicentennial Seventies. And, in a way, it's kind of fitting. Because, over in his magazine, DD was living in San Francisco at that time, too! Of course, he was living with The Black Widow rather than Supergirl. Still, that might make for an interesting sequel cover. Supergirl and BW fighting over Hornhead like Batgirl and Wonder Woman (back when the Dark Knight was trying to scam Copperhead).

Daredevil might have something from Dr Strange if Linda has been like this for a while. Getting it to her will depend on how much of her own identity and thoughts are still there. By the way, it's interesting that her S -shield moved to the other breast this time (the correct one).

Who did this may still make a difference if they have other plans as well. Nice layout.

It looks like Cary was on the right track when he proposed that Doctor Mid-Nite would be the one to help; Daredevil, at least, has half of the Doctor's qualifications (blind, but not an MD).

Still, this seemed like the perfect sort of situation for the Med Bros.

PS: This just occurred to me: Oracle vs. Ultron, as she works to shut him down from the inside (perhaps with other Birds of Prey serving as a distraction).

I think it would’ve been great if Alicia Masters was the one needed to save the day!

You know, I always wondered what would a Suicide Squad be like if it pulled from both Marvel and DC...

@my namesake: well, if I'd been the Wall, I would have the Pied Piper hypnosonically guide Supergirl into a trap. One where the Mandrill (mind-controlled by Alicia Masters' stepfather) could order a pheromonally controlled Dragonfly (the bright-red Aniwoman who once worked for Count Nefaria) into optically zapping Supergirl!

Or, failing that, the MIB's neuralyze Super Medusa into a super-stupor before having Animal Man and the Legion of Super Pets fly her into the Sun (to break the spell with a purifying dose of pure sunlight).

Ross _
So, now that the story has been completed will you enlighten us on what did cause Supergirl's 'bad hair day' ?

And now I'm envisaging a new opponent for Captain Carrot, 'Bad Hare'... perhaps a rival from the good captain's civilian career who gets hold of one or more of his 'cosmic carrots'? Or maybe a scientist who, studying one of the carrots, exposes it to radiation before [forgetfully?] eating itand thus obtains recurring powers that not only differ to some extent from the Captain's but might even vary from occurence to occurrence?)

That does remind me of a concept I had once for an enemy of Darkwing Duck: a British duck with volcanic powers, named Lord Lava Duck.

How about an anthropomorphic waterfowl who has eight power rings (one for each cartoon finger, including opposable thumbs)?

"Beware The Coming Of...THE MANDARIN DUCK!"
