Ka-Zar and Batgirl

I was sorry to hear of John Romita Sr.'s passing last week.  When I was a Kid, Romita's style provided what I considered to be the definitive versions of Marvel Characters, mainly because so much of his artwork was used on promotional materials. He could draw anything from heroic figures to beautiful women to demonic villains to engaging cover scenes.  He was one of the true masters of the field and he will be missed.

What Ross said. :-(

Allusions to today's depiction will have to wait for the initial numbness to subside.

That's a Kane Ka-Zar for sure, but that Batgirl sure looks like Jim Aparo's work to me...

OK! I'm feeling less bomb-shelled, now. Great splicing job, Ross! This definitely looks like those two are having an adventure in the Savage Land. My second guess would have been Dinosaur Island (had you not been kind enough to specify).

JR was part of Marvel that was everywhere because he was able to do it all as Ross said. Nice cover Ross...Babs must really be working out.

How about Beowulf (from DC's infamous "Explosion/Implosion" of the early 1970's) vs. Grendel (Hunter Rose version)?

Ernie Chan is actually the artist from Batman Family #3

Slight change of subject: if Carol Danvers' pet flerkin ever had an offspring, and she gave it up for adoption to Vixen, would the newlywed Lioness of Olympus name it...Flerkules?

;-)

Never mind that, Cary. I'm still hoping to see said Flerken teamed up with the Wookie after whom he's named.

@Cary and Bob: I'm hoping to see Flerkie team up with Streaky The Supercat!
