We are starting to hear some news about the upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: House of Harkness with the casting of Aubrey Plaza in a thus far unnamed role. I have no idea what the plat of the show will be, but I enjoyed Kathryn Hahn quite a bit in Wanda/Vision, so I am looking forward to seeing what trouble she gets into. Will Wanda herself make an appearance after the events of Multiverse of Madness? I haven't heard that yet, but she's sure to be a presence story-wise at least, I'm betting.

I wondered why I was up so early, great pairing Ross! Agatha Harkness is one of the most subtle and underrated characters in the Marvel universe. She can show the other sorcerers who is really grounded in the mystic realms. And in this case, she may be doing Zatanna a back-handed favor by challenging her, on a Joseph Campbell type level. Waking Nightmare Before Christmas for sure!
I hope everyone here can have a good, and restful Thanksgiving.
Not only have you gone from A to Z in this blog, but you did in one cover! Nice job! Happy Thanksgiving!
Zatanna's reply to Ms. Harkness: "I ma lufrewop hguone taht I econ edam namrepuS, flesmih, rednerrus tuohtiw a elggurts ylpmis yb gnikool ta ym yttenhsif sgel! sA lliw uoy."
P.S. yppaH gnivigsknahT, ssoR! :-)
Ehs dluoc esrever emit, dna did ton neve wonk ti. Well, maybe Agatha will help Zatanna get a new look after this, perhaps in a more serious Victorian, or even Steampunk style. Ditch that cheezy, old Las Vegas outfit. It could be part of her growing process. I'm also tempted to suggest that they could be distant relatives, but that would be going to the well too many times. Family dinners are tough enough these days.
i am surprised Agatha doesn't have a sense of how powerful Zatanna is. If she doesn't have a magic item to help her judge Ms Z., then she could get Reed Richards to help evaluate "the kid".
As long as Zatanna doesn't give Agatha the bird today.
Given that Z once got the drop on the Sorcerer Supreme (though I suspect that she returned the title at the end of that story), Agatha may have bitten off more than she can chew in this.
As for Agatha: House of Harkness, I suspect that Wanda will appear, at least in flashbacks, and possibly in the final episode or two. I'd be disappointed if she didn't at least appear in the finale's tag scene.*
@Cary & Ken: Clever, though Zatanna only issues magical commands in reversed words. Tag ruoy stcaf thgiarts!
@All: Evah a lufyoj Gnivigsknaht!
*The TV counterpart to a post-credits scene.
PS: For the group, does anyone know if there are any comedic heroes with plant, weather, or other nature-type powers? Ross could team them up to make a "Farce of Nature!"
@ Bob: Gotcha. I'll cool it with the reverse verse curse.
Zat, anna few other things!
Cheers!
Ken, Cary and Bob- Happy Thanksgiving!
@Bob: ehS saw gniussi tsuj hcus a dnammoc! :-P
@Ken Roskos: that "cheesy outfit" is part of the misdirection that makes her opponents continuously underestimate her.* Similar to Spidey's "senseless" banter while struggling to web up his foes.
*That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. ;-)
I, too, wish to offer you a Happy Thanksgiving, Ross. :-)
Well, along with a minor request. How about Agatha Harkness meets The Coven? If only to promote a long-overdue third appearance by Hermione Granger!
I second that emotion. ;-D
@ Carycomic: Your point on Z's costume is well taken. But, all sexism aside, I think most of DC's supervillains would be familiar with the abilities and tactics of their opponents by now, although young street thugs still have to beware. And to address Bob's point, seeing how Agatha Harkness "got the drop" on Zatanna, shows me that there has to be more to magic than just raw power, and being the fastest on the draw. I don't believe that Agatha would bushwhack anyone, and this looks like it was a fair, open challenge. Zatanna didn't give the Wise Woman respect, and she fell prey to Agatha's mystic Judo. So help me Joseph Campbell!

I think that either Quality or Charlton had a character named 'Nature Boy' who possessed suitable powers, but don't know offhand how comedic he moight have been (or whether DC now has the rights to him).
And then, of course, there was "Mother Nature's favourite son" Woozy Winks...
@Ken Roskos: on the other hand, Agatha might very well underestimate Madame Xanadu, based on the latter's youthful appearance.---Cary
@BG: Cary's right. Sentences are recited forward. Only the words are backwards.
I'd say Zatanna is powerful enough to restrict Agatha to less than five appearances, here.
