Legion of Super-Heroes and Squadron Supreme

Getting the LSH on the big screen will face the same hurdles as Shazam!  if you want a series of films, you run the risk of the young actors aging too rapidly and they've already outgrown their roles in a few years. I knw Warner Bros.  is trying to get away from expensive streaming series, but that might be the best solution for such a property.

I was hoping for LSH vs. SS rather than them joining, but that is one powerful cover, Ross!

I don't the Legion getting to the big screen, and even if it does, my expectations would be low. There are so many characters - one of my favorite things about the comic book - that I seriously doubt it will pan out. A tv series? Maybe, but I don't see WB investing what needs to make it good.

@Harry: I'm sure they'll "Discover" a viable alternative.

@Ross: Intriguing title! An allusion to "gravitational singularity," perhaps? Has former HTD* foe Morton "The Black Hole" Kribbee been mystically enslaved by Mordru after accidentally being brought to his attention by the magical meddling of Dr. Angst?

One can only hope a sequel cover will answer these questions (as the result of a team-up between Howard and Bouncing Boy). ;-)

*Howard The Duck

@Anon827: I like the idea about Howard. But, I'd prefer him teaming up with Karate Kid (as "Shang-Op, Master of Quack Fu"). Or, failing that, I'd settle for him going up against the Band of the Bland with the aid of...The Inferior Five!

@Cary: how about a compromise? Howard The Duck and Animal Man vs. Dr. Bong.

@Anonymous: You got a deal! Now, if we can just get Ross aboard...

I LOVE teams - I watched "Legends of Tomorrow", as silly as it was, purely because it was a big team. So I love today's lineup.

But I'm going to be a little rude and say: send everyone else home. I'm pretty sure whatever they are up against, Hyperion and Mon-el can take care of it. LOL

OK, you're right. Your cover looks better with the two teams on it. :-)

Another fantastic cover that I would buy today…

Had WB not abandoned the Arrowverse*, they had a good potential start to an LSH series through their interactions with Supergirl. They also would've been an easy crossover with the Legends.**

PS: Consider this: The Ultra-Humanite conquers the Planet of the Apes.

*This could be a good thing or a bad thing. I'm in the latter camp; while it certainly peaked with "Crisis on Earth-X" and seems to have jumped the shark with "Crisis on Infinite Earths, Part 5," it did have a lot of potential.

**And speaking of potential, while the show's final season was quite weak and went in a direction I didn't much care for, the final episode and its cliffhanger gave a lot of promise for the following season, which sadly will never come to pass.

Maybe the best way to do a LSH series would be as an animated one...

Don't forget the LSH already had an animated series, about 15 years ago. It ran for two seasons. It had its strengths and weaknesses. I've not seen the second season, which apparently time jumped a few years and was a bit darker. There was a planned third season but that didn't pan out.

It wasn't exactly "my" Legion, but I warmed to it when I finally got around to watching it a few years back.

I'm always happy to see the Legion, and the Squadron was a fun tribute/parody of the classic JLA.

How about crossing over Mordru vs. Dormammu, and the heroes just pop some popcorn and sit back--if, of course, the fight could be held in a safely deserted area so the heroes weren't compelled to intervene.

If I saw this cover in a store, I would definitely buy it. I love the Legion. I just can't bear to read the most recent reboot of it.
Anyway, my question it... who or what is the Singularity? I don't remember this term in my vast reading.

I just made it up. I thought it sounded cool.

this is a surprising cover. Twice the people but 4 times the excitement. Calls for a Treasury size issue.

@Kid Charlemagne: see STF #3546.

@Ross: it does sound cool. In fact, my first thought is that it might be the Marvel equivalent of DC's "Empty Hand" (the b.t.s. antagonist from their first post-Convergence story arc)!

How about an Egyptian themed crossover: Moon Knight and Doctor Fate and then Moon Knight, Fist of Khonshu and Fate

Ross said...

Scott: See STF #1554-1555 for a tale close to that.

@Anon 6:26 PM:

Thanks. I had forgotten that one--although it's still not Mordru VS. Dormammu; they were teamed up.

However, of course, one of them would probably turn on the other one sooner or later...
