Guardians of the Galaxy Vs. Starro

Continued from yesterday's cover, we see just which JLA villain that the Guardians had set their sights on.  James Gunn has given us versions of all of these characters as supporting characters in his movies for Marvel and DC.  It might have been fun to see them go up against each other on the big screen.  Just as long as the conclusion to the battle isn't as disgusting as the one depicted in The Suicide Squad.  Yuck!

Well, it's nice to know my second guess, from yesterday, was right. :-)

But, in what Marvel film did Starro make an Easter egg-like cameo? Surely not "...Multiverse of Madness" as that thing more closely resembled Shuma-Gorath!* Unless, of course, SW had summoned it from the Amalgam Universe.

As Steve Rogers' Uncle Fred might've said: "Can you say 'Starro-Gorath'? "

*And pleae don't confuse me with Mike Shirley. ;-)

"And pleae don't confuse me..."

Looks like someone got the "s" out of there.

"A Lesson in Lime!" GotG vol 28....i remember it well. And Cary, never ever wave a Naked Gunn in front of Starro-Gorath. He's liable to pull a loaded Airplane on you.
And don't call me Shirley!

This is the first time I remember Starro having "the Conqueror" attached to his name. I wonder... what if he were to battle Marvel's own "Conqueror," Kang? The approach of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania might make this a good time to try that.

@Cary: Did someone say that there was a Starro Easter egg in a Marvel movie?

Re: Starro in the movies. Not Marvel, it was the final big bad in Gunn's version of the Suicide Squad. And Starro the Conqueror was its name in its first appearance way back in the also first appearance of the Justice League of America, in The Brave & The Bold #28.

another fine cover match up and mash-up, Ross.....
and another suggestion to join the two proposed yesterday....
Namo, Aquaman and the Man from Atlantis from the TV show and Marvel comic books or some variation of the three....

jack-el said...

of course in the previous comment Namo was suppose to be Manor, which makes more sense.....

fat fingers and auto-correct strike again....
not Namo....
not Manor....
but rather Namor.....

Starro also made a cameo appearance on the short-lived TV series "Powerless" (https://youtu.be/LRPsgsVbXFw @ 0:18)

BTW, Jay & Bob: Julie Schwartz based the title "Starro the Conqueror" on a 1930 SF novel, "Tarrano the Conqueror" by Ray Cummings.

@Bob Greenwade: "James Gunn has given us version of all these characters as supporting characters in his movies for Marvel and DC." That phrase (in my experience) usually includes Easter egg-style cameo appearances. And nowhere does it say "...except for Starro."

Slight digression, here. How about Starro VS. Shuma-Gorath?
