I remember thinking when a live action Powerpuff Girls series was announced that I didn't know how that was possible without losing most of what made the cartoon so cool. It would seem like I was not the only one to have doubts, because apparently feedback on the pilot they filmed was so bad that they have decided to scrap it and start over, albeit with the same cast. According to script leaks, what was presented had oversexualized versions of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup and test audiences weren't having it. Imagine that! I still don't have very high hopes for the retooled version, this whole fiasco sounds like a diabolical Mojo Jojo plot.

hey why not the impossibles there are 3 of them too !!!
Sheer Genius for issue #3333

Brilliant! On a scale of One to Ten this gets a Nine!
Now I want to see the Impossibles vs the Three Robonic Stooges LOL
I couldn't have asked for more...or better.
Bravo, Ross! :-)
Mr. Ross this cover was 3pendious on all counts....
i applaud your bold selection of creative panache....
Great picks! Even better, if you had included The Impossibles, you could have only had to have TWO teams (say, The Impossibles and Triplicate Girl, because within the Impossibles, Multi-Man could have made three of himself, giving you another triplicate for the cover! Recursive goodness, lol!
This is delightful, Ross. I don't think it could've been better.
(Now I wish even more that we could've had Tintin and Rin Tin Tin for #1010, and Two-Face vs. the Toxic Avenger for #2222. Oh, well.)
Not much surprise in your text. It should actually be fairly easy to make a proper live-action Powerpuff Girls series; just bring in writers from the original, propose that this is their adventures as adults, and (pardon the expression) Bob's your uncle. Making things that don't match up right with the original brought us things like Will Farrell's Land of the Lost and Seth Rogen's Green Hornet. (On the other hand, by not taking it to an extreme we also got a pretty decent reboot of Battlestar Galactica.)
Three teams gives you a value of 27 --- 3 to the third power.
As to the P. Girls, they are not Impossible. Check youtube for a look at the original pilot version of Big Bang Theory. Vastly different. The right people behind the cameras make so much difference. There may still be hope, happiness, and successfulness.
A threemendous effort. I look forward to issue 3456 in three months' time!
Bad comparisons, Bob. Those feature-length b*****dizations tanked at the box office. And deservedly so!
What a thre-eat. Just like bread, peanut butter and jelly.
Very famous non-successes? Batman Forever. Batman & Robin. Legend of the Lone Ranger.
When it was hard to do a bad superhero movie they pulled it off.
but you do have 4 threes on the cover.
@Anon@12:15: What's "bad" about my examples?
They were more like needless parodies.
Hey Nony, you mean like the Ghostbusters #3 ??? Or Superman #3???
Now if Triplet Girl met Multi Man, that would be Great Potentials!
Precisely!
@Anonymous858: Superman III was Shakespeare-in-Central Park compared to well-intentioned box office failure THE QUEST FOR PEACE. The one where Nuclear Man was merely a composite of Bizarro and Capt. Atom.
I always liked the Duo Damsel costume with the ring belt better than other one.
I wish they had a comic with the science of her split.
* Is she is confined can she split out of the confinement?
* What does her split look like to someone with superspeed vision?
* Some items obviously split (her costume and LSH Flight ring and old flight belt) but what are the limits?
This should be a three issue miniseries!!
OK, for a start with #4444, we can get the Fantastic Four and the Fourth Doctor....
Tackling the Fourth Estate?
Ross might be better off planning for STF #5555.
Like, say, the Fifth Doctor and the Jackson 5 rescuing the 5th Dimension from the Fourth Dimension?
hey Ross, what about Triplicate Girl who can become three of herselves and MultiMan from the Impossibles and that odd ball Captain Marvel who hollers "Split" and parts of him can fly off under control....
I'd settle for just six of her, Jack. Provided she was half-Winathian.
See, Lightning Lad's people customarily give birth to twins. So, if a Carggite married a Winathian, they'd potentially have sextuplets!
A six pack to go? fun.
