Captain Marvel and Deadpool

Shazam: Fury of the Gods has finally begun production.  As I suspected, the cast of kids already looks a lot older than in the first film, hopefully that will not be too much of an issue, but it certainly complicates things if they decide to go for a trilogy.  Still no word on a new Deadpool movie, but Marvel and Ryan Reynolds promise it's coming.

I was glad to use a Jeff Smith Captain Marvel here.  Smith is most well known for his amazing Bone series (seen to be adapted for Netflix).  I was able to pick up a quick sketch by him many years back:

The DeMatteis/Giffen version of Cap and the Reynolds version of Deadpool would be a hoot together.

Did not know there was a Bone adaption coming. That is exceptional news. Love Smith's line work - even in that quick sketch.

Another ace. This is such an unlikely pairing but you've made it work 110%. Opposites attract? Could this be just the start of a real STF bromance?

Great cover, as always, Ross. I would like to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day! As we do whatever activity that we typically do for this day, I encourage you to reflect on the men and women who have died in the service of our country so that we may have the freedoms that we enjoy.

You think so, Wade? I dare you to swallow it like a tequila worm. See how you react, then!

What a contrast -- DC's (arguably) most PG-rated hero, with Marvel's R-rated wonder. And the dialogue here certainly fits Deadpool's expression! Nicely done, Ross!

I agree with Bob. Even more stunning contrast would be provided by Kamandi meeting Teen Wolf (MJF version)!

Hilarious cover!

@Cary: For contrasting characters, I don't think Ross will ever beat The Punisher and Ambush Bug -- which he pulled off so perfectly that I wish Marvel and DC would do it for real!

They'd probably make good on Punisher's threat, first. :-(

Followed by a literary 360, ten years or less later, in which they'd bring him back with the "aid" of Marvel Zombie Access.
