Nightwing & Flamebird was such a fun concept in the Silver Age. The fact that Superman would still fight crime in a place that nullified his powers just showed how heroic he truly was, not to mention that ist showed that he picked up a lot of pointers from his adventures with Batman and Robin. Then he let Jimmy Olsen join in on the action, solidifying his title of Superman's Pal. The costumes were pretty cool, too!

Nomad and the Guardian would be interesting too. Brothers from another tailor.
Look! Up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. It's a Nightwing. It's a flock of Nightwings.
I recently had the idea for a Superman/Atom story set in Kandor. Turns out they did it. In the shrunken city a shrinking character like Atom or Ant Man or Shrinking Violet would be able to emulate the powers of a growing character like Giant Man or Colossal Boy just by not shrinking as much.
This isn't even mentioning how you have both Marvel's and DC's "American Way" heroes in their "other superhero" identities, which not only makes this faux cover extra cool but would also make for a very cool ongoing partnership.
@emsley: That actually was the concept behind Colossal Boy for a while: he was part of a race of giant humanoids, and had the power to shrink to what we call "normal" size. He wanted to call himself Micro Lad, but everyone else insisted that he was Colossal Boy.
Heh! Bob's right. This is the post-Watergate Steve Rogers as Nomad.
Good catch, Mr. Greenwade!
But, then, this raises the question: what is Nomad talking about?
My first wild guess: Skrull infiltration of the Bottle City for some nefarious purpose. Like, say, mass brainwashing...for eventual use against the Kree-descended Inhumans.
Of course the red head is the bad guy.
I did not know that Superman and Jimmy Olsen became "street level", Batman style crime-fighters in Kandor. (I knew that Superman loses his powers when he enters Kandor's regular Kryptonian environment.) Small world!
"It's a small world, after all.
It's a small world, after all!
IT'S A SMALL WORLD, AFTER ALL!
It's a small, small world."
Thanks, Ken! I've always wanted an excuse to sing that. ;-D
That was big of you to admit that.
@Glenn: let's give Ak-Var the benefit of the doubt and simply call him a misunderstood "anti-hero."
