I think before I ever had a superhero action figure, I had a couple of Planet of the Apes action figures to play with. I recall having some Planet of the Apes trading cards and a lunchbox too. They were a pretty big deal at the time, I think this was around the time when there was a TV series in addition to the movies. Ape mania had swept the country - or at least my household!

Trapped in an alternate timeline without a mother box or boom tube. How will SCOTT break FREE?
More importantly, will the apes have any hope against Barda?
Join us next week for a howling good time as The Ghostbusters travel the Planet of the Apes. Crossing the Streams will never seem the same ever again.
@D. Tobor (re: your 3rd comment): let me guess. they were caught in between a clash of titans.
The Sta-puft Marshmallow Man vs. The Ghost of King Kong!
As a kid I built the Aurora models of the Super-Heroes and monster kits. Wish I'd gotten some of the "Apes" ones as well.
@Carycomic, Priceless!! Ross, King Kong on the Planet of the Apes.... followed by Godzilla?
also remember the planet of the apes cartoon series???
Or Dr. Zaius has to confront Rick and Morty? Or stand before Judge Dredd, for violating Ape Law?
King Kong on the Planet of the Apes would be almost as cool as Mars Attacks the Planet of the Apes (which I think is the only cover so far that didn't need a connecting text such as "and," "versus," or in this case "must escape").
It's a shame that you're not familiar with Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys, Ross. Not just because they'd be such a perfect fit for PotA, but also because it was such a fun show! (The only place where I can find it streaming currently is DailyMotion.)
And you know, I think it's high time the Planet of the Apes was a landing spot for the TARDIS... or even a certain DeLorean.
"Back To The Future Of The Planet Of The Apes?"
@Cary: That is precisely what I had in mind (most pointedly the "connecting text")!
Afterthought: To really get extreme and bizarre, we could have "The Creature From the Black Lagoon Goes Back to the Future of the Planet of the Apes"!
Only if he first voyaged to the bottom of the sea. ;-)
Why not? Wasn't Henry Jones, as Mr. Pem, kind of a rogue Voyager (a la Jon-Eric Hexum's arch-enemy from VOYAGERS)?
And they didn't even need a Time Tunnel to do so. All these time travellers have taken a Quantum Leap from the old days of doing it.
Which means they're no longer Journeymen. ;-D
Hopefully, he won't escape till after he's prevented Darkseid from becoming "Lord of Ape-okolips."
If they get into sports, would they be known for their monkeyshines too?
@Tobor: I thought the gorillas used that to polish their combat boots.
@Tobor & Anonymous: Oh, I get it! "Monkey Shines." Like "Turtle Wax," only for 40th-century simian footwear.
