Captain America Vs. Darth Vader

The passing of Captain America's shield and title so Sam Wilson in Falcon and the Winter Soldier was handled well.  I remember thinking that the shield and wings together might be kind of awkward to operate when Falcon took on the Cap role in the comics, but the final episode here made me a believer.  I loved all the shield/wings combo moves that were used, very cool to watch.   I look forward to his future appearances, as well as whatever is next for Bucky and U.S. Agent.

A very cool cover. Dear old Darth just seems like such a perfect fit for the STF combiverse...
Have you ever been a Big Bad League? I can just see Darth sitting around a table with Doctor Doom, Darkseid etc.

When Cap was killed and bouncing around in time this could have happened. Too bad Cap doesn't have a Spell of Worthiness on his shield as Thor does on his hammer.

@ De-one-and-only-Tobor: given his rock-solid belief in individual free will, I think Cap prefers being the one to decide who his shield is worthy enough to pass on to. And Sam has more than proven worthy! In the comics, anyway.

As for Vader's mount? Looks like one of the Billy Goats Gruff on steroids.

Speaking of odd pairings: how about Batman and the Outsiders vs. Zemo Jr. and the Thunderbolts?

I mean, the T-bolts haven't had a rematch with him since his solo run-in with them during the heyday of B&B: TLI!

To combat Vader, Cap will need to harness the spirit of America, Columbia.

This is a very interesting cover. Is that steed from the original Vader artwork? I'd assume it is, but I don't recall him ever using an organic mode of transportation before. If it's from the Darth Vader comic, that gives me just one more reason to try to check that title out in TPB.

And seeing him with Cap's shield makes me wonder: what if Iron Beetle were to become... American Beetle?

Regarding Bucky on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, I'm hoping that the next time we see him he decides to embrace the White Wolf name and persona. He's no longer the Winter Soldier, and the only other name Bucky's used in the comics is Captain America, so he really could use another code-name -- just change his clothing color to white, and there you go. He could easily do that in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever without detracting at all from the main plot.

@Cary: I kind of got the feeling that the shield that Cap gave to Sam may have been legitimately his to give away. The one that belongs to the US Government in the main MCU was shattered by Thanos; this one is from the alternate timeline in which Steve lived out his life, and he may have obtained ownership of it for his service. It became the property of the US Government when Sam donated it to the Smithsonian, but its ownership as of the end may be a little fuzzy (as has happened to a few items in the real-world Smithsonian).

I get the impression this Darth Vader may be the Black Knight (Dane Whitman) of his galaxy's time line.

@Ross: as you normally like to balance out your Marvel depictions with DC or other company characters, I have to assume this rendition of Vader is from before Disney bought Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox. And based on the color of the animal he's riding, I'll wildly guess...Dark Horse.
