Warlock and Lieutenant Uhura

I remembered when Warlock was first introduced in The New Mutants, and thinking he was an odd fit for the team.  He quickly became a favorite of mine however.  No other artist has been able to quite capture his alien nature the way that Bill Sienkevitch did.  Art Adams was one that was able to provide a pretty cool interpretation, though, as is seen on this cover.

Great cover, as always. And timely as Nichelle is in need of help:

A deep-space distress signal, huh? Victims of the Borg, perhaps? Or maybe another Engineer vessel overrun by xenomorphs.

This cover made me wonder how Cipher and Hoshi Sato would get along. But then again, a few other linguistically-adept characters also came to mind, like Indiana Jones, C3PO, and The Doctor (especially the Eleventh). Maybe you could make a team of them.

At the other end of the spectrum of speech, maybe it's time for The Silent Partners to find themselves having to guard The Child (from The Mandalorian).

The team The Decoders was kind of along those lines.

Kind of... but not quite. :)

Since Uhura is in her movie garb, wasn't she a higher rank by that time?
As to the New Mutants, it's coming up to showtime. We really will see.

There were 2 ST:TNG / X-Men books. A ST: New Mutants book would be interesting especially with Spock / Warlock / McCoy.

How many Warlocks will it take to get Uhura to visit "The Lower Decks"?
Only the High Evolutionary will know for sure.

Maybe there could be a Warlocks convention with Warlock (mutant), Warlock (him) and Warlock (Warlock the Wizard ran, without credits, in the first seven issues of Nickel Comics.) hosting it.

@Horsefeathers: we should be so war-lucky. ;-D
