Captain Action Vs. Taskmaster

The Black Widow movie keeps getting its release date pushed back, unfortunately.  I'll have to wait a little longer to finally see one of my favorite Marvel villains in live action.   I think his power set can make for some amazing combat sequences, and hopefully the movie will not disappoint in that regard.

Cool scene. While not up to the level of the Totalitarians, Taskmaster would be quite a challenge for most heroes. The good Captain's blaster might not be enough to counter his shield in battle.

Would the original Wonder Woman be considered in the same "league" as the Totalitarians? Her powers came as gifts from many (gods) in the same sense as the Composite Superman's came from the members of the Legion. And while the rest of them can keep adapting new abilities, Super Skrull is locked into his limits of power as well. That could mean Diana MIGHT be faster than Superman, if not being as fast as Flash. Ross, your covers can provide food for thought.

Taskmaster come out and play. If he can mimic any kind of fighting discipline, can he
· See Namor fight underwater and stay underwater for a long time, or be a super swimmer?
· See Dr Strange fight with magic then be able to 's p e l l'?
·See the Hulk throw a punch then do anything about it?
· After seeing it, can he mimic Mimic mimicking others as part of his fighting style?
· Copy the Beast's fighting discipline and incredible jumps?

Cappy is nice too but give him a power ring to make him useful.

Taskmaster? Looks like Dr. Destiny chose a sword and shield from the dress-up box.

Fortunately the delays on Black Widow have been mainly due to COVID-19, so we can expect to see it as soon as the movie houses are widely open -- and it's for more reasons than that, that I hope that they open soon.

And I'm looking forward to it as well. The part I've been anticipating has been Nat passing the mantle to Yelina, but I get the impression that every fight scene with Taskmaster will be filled with Easter eggs from past MCU films.

@Horsefeathers: From what I recall of Taskmaster's ability, yes to Beast's fighting discipline, maybe to Dr. Strange's magic, and no to the rest. He can copy skills, but not innate abilities.

How about a fight between Taskmaster and Cassandra Cain? Cass can perfectly predict Taskmaster's every move, but give him a minute and he'll be able to do the same.

Tobor, if Wonder Woman counts in that category, then wouldn't Captain Marvel and the Marvel Family, logically?

I vaguely remember a DC one-shot that attributed the good captain's mimicry to some magical coins from ancient Greece. I sincerely hope my memory is playing tricks!

P.S. @ Horsefeathers: Taskmaster can only imitate moves and feats that a well-trained normal human (like, say, an Olympic gold medalist) would be capable of.

How about the Puffball GL (from "Tales of the Green Lantern Corps Annual #3; 1987) vs. the evil Puffball Collective (from "Incredible Hulk Vol.II/#301-308; 1984)?

You're absolutely right 11:47. It's all a question of energy - the stuff from the gods vs the energy Kal-el gets from lighter gravity Earth and the yellow sun.

@Cary, no trix, just your good memory.

I'd like to see Nemesis (Thomas Andrew Tresser) and Captain Action together.

If I were the good captain, I'd rather see some action with Nemesis from "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys." ;-D

@Anon846: only if he had the power. ;-D

Let's hope not, though. Because that might make him the He-man of your dreams !*

*Lol!
