The Thing Vs. Sinestro

Sinestro is of course referring to the Power Ring that Ben Grimm wielded on a cover from my MTIO: The Lost Issues days back in 2011...  One of the fun things about having done this blog for so long now is that I can go back through the archives and pick up on some old plot threads.  While I still like to feature new team up combinations it's also fun to mine STF continuity with returning teams, family relations and romances, plus to feature multi-part stories.  I'll try to keep up a mix to hopefully help maintain interest.

Thing ring, do your thing!

Up to now Ross, you have had absolutely no trouble in maintaining my interest.
Good to see Mr Grimm looking as calm and Zen-like as ever.
If you're looking for a plot thread to follow up, how about the classic you did with Ben and Lois Lane - where she's determined to uncover his "secret identity"?

Wow. Just checked out the earlier Benjy cover. Loved it. But the GL supporting character that's just begging to meet up with him here is Kilowog...

What everybody else just said. :-)

What, Kilowog's not a part of Ben's Poker Night? With all the other luminaries added to that group during the MTIO days?

We really need to see that group at some point -- not necessarily at the table, if the images just aren't there, but perhaps being interrupted by the likes of the Leader and/or the Thinker.

I also wonder who'd be in Reed's Chess Club.

As for other re-meetings, I can only reiterate some of my favorites: more Power Couple (which I think you've mentioned you have planned); WW/Cap with their daughter American Maid; Doctors Strange and Mid-Nite helping work on a COVID-19 cure; Professor X and Oracle in a "work-from-home" themed story; and, most recently, the Silent Partners babysitting The Child.

PS: Wildfire's recent appearance here made me think of how he could be joined by Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) for a fight against Doctor Doom in "The Faceless Ones!" (Or, if there are enough similar heroes to make a group, this could be said group's name.)

Reed's chess club? I vote for Brainiac 5 to fill out its ranks.

This is another great cover. I'd like to know how your creative process works, does someone make a suggestion then you bring it to fruitionor are you inspired by perusing your image library?

I'd say an even mix of both.

Not being much of a Marvel reader, I am not sure if Reed’s chess club is real or a joke, but the obvious challenger would be Despero,

In terms of follow up meetings, more Phantom and Phantom Stranger, please.

@Anon@7:23: Reed's Chess Club is as much a joke as Ben's Poker Night; it's not in the comics, but a way for Ross to bring together characters without making them a formal team. Personally I'd include at least Mr. Terrific, Concrete, Arthur, and Donatello... though Chewbacca might be an interesting inclusion (at least Reed and Concrete would be willing to play him).

As for Phantom and Phantom Stranger, that would be interesting, though a re-meeting of Dr. Strange and the Phantom Stranger could allow for the title "Strange and Stranger!"

Your Strange-st idea, yet. ;-)

@Anon@8:43: For that, I'd want to add Freakazoid.
