Powerpuff Girls and Power Girl

Power Girl is one of those characters that I am really surprised has not made the transition to live action yet.  I figured we might see her by now in the CW Supergirl series.  Is it simply because her outfit is considered too revealing in this PC age we live in?  That seems like a simple problem to solve, if that is indeed the case.

Isn't Power Princess a Marvel character?

Guest appearance by Princess Powerful (Molly from Marvel's Runaways)?

I'm afraid "yes" is the only answer to that question. :-(

Yes, well this *IS* a blog dedicated to fictional cross-company crossovers so everyone is fair game to make an appearance here.

I have a piece that was drawn revealing that Power Girl was created by Professor Utonium lol

We (the viewers) are still getting information on the new dynamics of DC's live-action multiverse, but just as a matter of practicality I do think it's unlikely we'll be seeing Power Girl on CW; that could be a situation similar to what Beth Kane already experienced on Batwoman. However, she could show up on Stargirl or Titans, especially if whichever show it is can make some reference to the Crisis.

As to whether she'll get a live-action treatment at all, and whether not getting one will have anything to do with her (ahem) generous bust and large decolletage, remains to be seen. I used to imagine a conversation between the two Karas, where Supergirl asks about the latter feature and Power Girl gives her a story combining the various explanations given over the years. That could appease at least most objectors (there will always be those crying "objectification" or "pornographic" where PG is concerned).

The meeting still isn't impossible, but between in-world plot complications and real-world social pressures, it's unlikely. That's too bad, because Power Girl would have some very real social and emotional issues to present that won't really be doable with the existing stable of characters -- at least, not in the same combination.

It's not merely that her costume is revealing, it's her almost comical buxomness that's problematic. It'd be a trick to have a comics accurate PG on a feminist show without doing it wrong.

Sorry, but I expected better of you than that question.

I would think Stargirl, with PG being an off-camera member of the JSA until the inevitable crossover with Supergirl, would be the logical place to see her. Helen Slater wore a padded bra for the Supergirl movie, so Melissa could pad up for the PG scenes and use the non-window costume PG has worn before.

@Jay: Nah, I'd cast a different, appropriately-figured actress for Power Girl. If Brandon Routh and Tyler Hoechlin can play side-by-side Supermen, and Grant Gustin and Ezra Miller share the screen as the Flash, then something similar can be done with any character, including Power Girl.

Since Crisis had different actors playing a few different Supermen, Lois Lane and Flash at the same time, having Supergirl and a stunt woman playing Power Girl meeting would be no problem.
As to Powergirl's breast size, there is a simple solution. When Karen suits up, she puts on padding to distract. We see it being done. Women everywhere can laugh it up. And the costume isn't much different than swim wear or Wonder Woman's costume worn by Lynda Carter.

On a shamelessly digressive note...

How about another of your movie-poster sims featuring Bruce Willis and Matt Damon? You could entitle it...DIE HARD; BOURNE AGAIN!

Or, failing that, you could have one featuring Mr. Bourne going up against his hockey-mask wearing namesake from the FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise. Thereby allowing you to entitle it...

@carycomic: I second the second motion. :-)

Power Princess should have twamed up with Princess Morebucks.

Seems to me that Karen Star could easily be a Kara Danvers doppleganger from Al's Bar, since multiple Brainiac's made it through that way, and they did not all look the same.

Yeah, it could be another actress. In fact, it would be a way for Melissa's incredible stunt double to get finally get her face on-camera and get a guest-star credit.

I believe I once asked Bob Rozakis, The Answer Man, if Power Girl and Supergirl ever met. It was first thing I ever had published and still the only thing on a national level. I looked it up and found a similar question by "anonymous" and I think it was me. Of course they met. I was a confused or clever 8 year old who realized they were the same person.

She'd never get on live television, let alone a revived Powerpuff girls, because of the oval which is essential to the character.
