I get that today's costume designers want to use more modern fabrics and materials to create their movie superhero costumes, but I still wish that whoever is responsible for Superman's next cinematic outing will look at the Christopher Reeve version for inspiration. The color scheme, cape length and "S" on the back of the cape all make for a look much closer to the comics than what the later films have given audiences. And while we're at it, let the hair stylist know that the spit curl is iconic - don't leave it out!

Why? That Image is from DC Cab where Mr. T played "Samson". Anyway, I'm the producer of this blockbuster and I say Mr. T is playing Mr. T!
Can Mr. T. redeem the Superman film franchise from the dastardly outings of Superman III and Superman IV?! Only the box office knows... (insert The Shadow's laugh)
Maybe they'll be at Mr. T's wife's business (Mrs. T's Pierogies). LOL! XD!
The irony here is that CRISIS gave us both EARTH 38 and Earth 96 versions. Earth 38's look is with shoulder straps, no trunks and a cape that looks like flat leather. DULL.
The costume looks like a military type uniform. Same now for Supergirl.
The Kingdom Come version is phenomenal!! And with certain camera angels used on Brandon's face, he looks like the drawn page come to life. PROOF that this look still works very nicely.
A couple tweaks though;Mr T as Space Cabbie. And Peter Dinklage as Mr Mxyzptlk. Peter could give him the range of emotions DC has had him display in the books since the 1985 reboot. Much more interesting version.

As to your casting choices? I agree! Had this been an actual movie in the Eighties, Andy Kaufman would've been arguably perfect for the role of Mr. Mxyzptlk.** If I recall correctly, he was even rumored to be genuinely multi-personality-stricken!
As to the plot of such a movie? Mr. T is turned into a Space Cabbie by Mr. M...and promptly carjacked by Terra-man. To get revenge on the man who killed his Pa prior to his UFO abduction: Sheriff Kent of Smallville, Kansas.***
*As Howard Hesseman's character so crudely put it, in DR. DETROIT: "My grandfather owned your grandfather!"
**Most people might argue that Robin Williams would've been better. Given his Julliard connection to Christopher Reeve and all.

It was Clubber Lang, not Lane, so he'd be related to Lana.

I'm still in favor of putting together Mr. T, Mr. E, and various other one-letter characters.
Andy Kaufman as Mxyzptlk? Well, he'd capture the personality, and it falls into the general practice of casting full-sized actors for the diminutive imp. (The only actor who's even dressed like him has been the late Michael J. Pollard, on the syndicated Superboy.) For this cover, I don't think Tobor's suggestion of Peter Dinklage would work; I think the 80s, where this cover seems to be set, would predate his career (his first movie was 1995's Living in Oblivion). Maybe Warwick Davis, or David Rappaport? (Davis would be just as good at it today, though I'd favor Martin Klebba.)
But yeah... I've been trying to put my finger on what seems wrong about Tyler Hoechlin's Superman, and that's it. Neither he nor Brandon Routh had the iconic spit-curl! (In a way, that feature is rather strategic, too; it draws attention away from the rest of the face, making it that much easier for Clark to maintain his secret identity.)
@Cary I love Robin Williams, but I have a hard time imagining him as Mr. Mxyzptlk. Now Robin Williams as the Prankster... That I can see!

I know I'm over materials that look like it should be covering a basketball. Shouldn't the choice in material somehow make sense to the characters' resources? That was the problem with the first two Spider-Man trilogies, although Peter's homemade Spidey costume looked pathetic even by his standards.
Terra-man on the big screen is not one I have thought have but it would work.
I would be cool if comic movies which are not giant assembles would have smaller movies on TV between them. They already have props and costumes so cost can be reduced. If done right the smaller movies would feed new viewers to big screen movies.
On a related note, Glenn, I do something wonder that Berlanti Productions doesn't start doing the CW's annual crossover as a TV-movie or miniseries independent of (though still connected to) the individual series.
