Sgt. Fury and The Spectre

Before he became a huge name because of his Lord of the Rings movies, I was a Peter Jackson fan because  of his film The Frighteners.  I remember seeing the effects used for the main evil spirit and thinking that it looked a lot like The Spectre - and that's on a movie almost 25 years old.  I am sure Hollywood could do an amazing job with the character today.  Heck, get Jackson to direct it!

After seeing what the DC animated was able to do with Jimmy's other half, CGI would need the right pieces of art by Mr. Aparo to carry his full effect.

Ayep, Strucker's pretty screwed here. Cannot imagine what kind of infinitesimal chance Strucker thinks he has to make the Spectre back off.

Does STF Hitler have the Spear of Destiny? Could Strucker whistle up Nazi Thor? Master Man? Actually hurt the Spectre with the Spear?

I'm with you, Ross: a Jackson-directed Spectre film would be a tremendous thing. (I wonder if Berlanti could get him to direct a segment of the next Arrowverse crossover? Probably not, but one can wish.)

@MHS: I imagine Strucker would pull a "back off or he dies!" tactic on the Spectre, at which point Jim turns the gun into Play-Doh. Then he turns the Nazis into corpses in various creative ways, starting with the one pulling the trigger in this panel and ending with Strucker as the most gruesome of the lot.

Hmmmm! The only time I can think of Jim Corrigan possibly having been a Howling Commando is during the days of the Justice Battalion (front-line segment of the All Star Squadron). At least, here on Earth-STF!

There is the playful side to the Spectre you're overlooking. He takes each of the soldiers and sticks their heads, with helmets on, into the next one's butt and makes Strucker the caboose of this human centipede. Then...

Has The Spectre ever met The Spirit?

The Spectre's "playful" side sounds awfully hardcore...

Dear Ross Pearsall,

I am a great admirer of your work. If I may, I wish to send you a few ideas for future covers. Do you have any contact email for it?
My best wishes.

@Ross: in that case, don't you think over seven hundred issues since their first team-up makes them way overdue for a sequel? ;-)

Didn't there used to be some kind of dime novel James Bond named Corrigan back in the early 1900's?

Maybe Spectre will just copy Raiders of the Lost Ark?

@Anonymous: I believe you'e thinking of that comic strip character created by Dashiell Hammett and Alex Raymond...SECRET AGENT X-9!

With a name like Strucker it has to be good. ;)

@BKKM: isn't that why he sometimes referred to himself as the "Imperial" Hydra? ;-D

Michael J Fox hated shooting the Frighteners as he came to realize how long it was taking and how far away he was from everyone he knew.
