Rumors are that Marvel is busy casting the role of Norrin Radd for an upcoming solo Silver Surfer movie. I have been thinking for a while that this is the role they wanted Keanu Reeves for, but it sounds like they are going in another direction (maybe Reeves felt the part was to similar to what he played in The Day The Earth Stood Still). That latest actor I am hearing for consideration is Rami Malek. I think that could work, we'll see if they make an announcement soon.

The actor who played Gort in the original version was a far better actor than Keanu Reeves as Klaatu in the needless remake.
I bet they're on their way to rescue Superman and Mr. T (lol)!
Space Cabbie, my favorite❣️
heard a rumor that Didi has left the building.
Great to see Space Cabbie again. And a lovely chalk & cheese pairing.
Here's an idea. What about a race - Cabbie against Nick Fury in the Shield mobile?
@Carycomic: Are SC and SS going to dine on pierogies, courtesy of Mr. T's wife? LOL! XD!
Search M.E. ;-D
Apparently, Marvel met with Will Smith too. Or so the rumor goes...
Rami as Norrin would be interesting. Oscar Isaac would be my first choice (though admittedly I'm pretty weak on my knowledge of actors in that general age range).
As for Keanu, I do have to agree with that first Anonymous; the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still is the one thing I've seen Keanu in that, well, I wish he hadn't done. I loved him as Neo, and as Ted "Theodore" Logan; I've seen only a few other things of his (Bram Stoker's Dracula, Much Ado About Nothing) and they were at worst OK. I'm not sure how I'd feel about him as Silver Surfer, but I think he'd be a dead-on choice for Namor. (On the DC side, I also think he'd be a great choice as the Phantom Stranger!)
Space Cabbie is one of those characters in DC's roster that makes their universe fun -- he's unlikely bordering on silly, and a great potential vehicle* for truly whimsical tales. It'd be fun to see him paired with the Guardians of the Galaxy (especially the roster matching the MCU's), or the crew of the Millennium Falcon. At the other end of the spectrum, maybe he could give an intergalactic lift to someone like Spider-Man, Wolverine, or Daredevil.
It occurs to me now that the Arrowverse could really use a star-wandering series, where we'd get to visit DC planets like Thanagar, Rann, Tamaran, Oa, etc. As for who'd be at the center of it, I don't know. I get the impression that Superman & Lois is going to be as Earth-based as Supergirl, so Supes and Green Lantern are off the table for that, and I don't think they'll want to take another stab at the Hawks; I'm not sure who else would qualify. (I'll not be surprised, though, if at least one later commenter mentions someone that makes me think, "Oh! Of course!")
PS: Just in case someone at Berlanti gets wind of this, I'm also one fan of the many who would like to see the Waverider crew see more of Jonah Hex, possibly dropping him off to (or bringing him back from) his adventures in the future; and at least a one-episode appearance from Booster Gold.
Heck, I'd like to see future Jonah Hex on this blog. How about with Spider-Man 2099 or one of his crowd?
Nice!
But when will the silver Surfer meet DC's 'Scarlet Skier'? ^_^
Didio is now gone from DC, now owned by AT&T. Anything can happen in the next half hour. What's what now may not be soon.
@Horsefeathers: you been talkin' to Vigo of Carpathia again?
