Batman and U.S.Agent
This is one of those pairings that I have wanted to do for years, since the early days of Brave and the Bold: The Lost Issues, but I never got around to it until now. I am not sure of what U.S.Agent's current status is in the Marvel Universe, but I have enjoyed his appearances throughout the years. I especially liked when he would work with Captain America's usual allies, and seeing their reaction to a shield-slinger with a decidedly different personality.

I haven’t read much from Marvel in awhile, but I remember USAgent from when he was the new, Uncle Sam-approved Captain America, and a series of his follow-up experiences up until MAXIMUM SECURITY. Sadly, I’ve come to see him as one of those “created and/or brought back from Limbo for a big story arc” characters whose served his purpose – another episode of showing us how putting the hero in tune with modern “moral sensibilities” is a bad idea by putting some Dirty Harry/Rambo-type in his costume – and now should be either be allowed to fade away or be killed. Every other appearance he makes puts him through some character development where he takes a second look at how he does things and what his goals really are. But does the next person to write him take this into consideration? No. So, in his next appearance he’s right back to being his old jerkass self -- Judge Dredd in a Silver Age world.
@jrp04f, I agree. I wince when characters who were created to show that amoral vigilantes are unpleasant to read about -- Wolverine, Rorschach, Guy Gardner (sort of), the Punisher, Azrael -- become popular icons. I'm not familiar with USAgent, but he doesn't sound like a character I'd be interested in following. But I like your "Judge Dredd in a Silver Age world" analogy.
I can just picture Batman teaming up with USAgent to arrest Steve Rogers for his "insurrectionist" activities during the Superhero Civil War. Only for USAgent to discover, the hard way, that the Dark Knight is secretly spying for Steve!
That is a cool idea ! Whether Batman is investigating on his own or the USAgent asked him for help it would be interesting to see how Bats turn the tables!
