This is a suggestion that comes from not one, but two Patrons of this Blog - Jeff O'Hare and Ivan Shablotski. I never caught the series back in the day, but from what I know about it, Jonah Hex would have been an interesting addition. I can only imagine what he would make of James West and his contraptions.

WWWow! Thank you for the great cover. And I'm flattered by the honorable mention.
The story would probably open with Miguelito Loveless trying to recruit Hex for his ever-changing group of "unusual" henchpeople and then the mandatory confrontation between Hex and West. Or this could be a "Beauty and the Beast" type of story (West vs. Hex). Whichever way it goes, this cover would definitely get me to buy the issue! Thanks, Ross!
Two new artists also get labels in blog as well which means more research for me to look at.
James Bond set in the old west. And of course, Robert Conrad gets to knock the stuffings out of all the baddies. Ross Martin was great as Conrad's partner as the master of disguise/distraction guy. Of course, the guest stars who played the villains (Michael Dunn, Victor Buono) made it worth watching.
Ah, yes. The father of all steampunk Western spy-fi (before those words were even invented)! CBS, Friday nights--at least, initially--@ 7:30 PM (6:30 Central Time). And, like Ken Roskos, I dug the fight scenes the most. In fact, I remember Robert Conrad (God bless him) doing an interview back in the 1980's where he admitted that they had so many fight scenes, they often had to hire guest-stars who resembled the stunt men!
The cover art that inspired today's simulation I believe is from the 1990 comic book spin-off from Millenium Publishing. A four-parter that featured a still-alive John Wilkes Booth posing as a vaudeville magician in order to avoid assassination at the hands of Dr. Loveless' henchmen!
I remember that interview, too. And, among other things, Robert Conrad disclosed how Michael Dunn used to join him and the stunt men in "iron man" football games! Mr. Dunn was obviously a gutsy little guy.
My brother was a fan of Wild West, while I could never figure out how a western had all those modern devices! Took me a while to really enjoy and appreciate the writing and acting talents involved! I never followed Hex but I've heard his reputation, would make a good addition to Jim West's world!
With all of his experiences with time travel and time travellers, I imagine Jonah Hex would not only not see James West's devices as being too unusual but might even be able to suggest a few moderate improvements.
Jonah would have a mild advantage with dealing in Jim West's world. Time travel does that, even for a guy from the wild west...ask the Two Gun Kid. This would be wide potentials.
@Jason and Tobor: Jim West had some experience with time travel, too. Discourtesy of a crippled ex-Confederate Army officer played by Ricardo Montalban!
Two gun kid or rawhide kid or scalphunter in wild wild west

I was a regular viewer back in the day. Most of the humor went over my head so that I barely noticed it, but I was always entertained by the proto-Bond-style gadgets. (And I would not want to get a kick in the groin from that bladed boot of his!)
I will age myself a little but back in the 80s when my local cable company first got WGN out of Chicago this was on every Sunday. I made sure we got home to watch it during lunch. To this day it is my favorite show. This meeting would have been during season 4 when Ross was out because of his heart attacks. I remember in the Comics Buyers Guide Weekly the story it ran about the launch of Millenium Publishing and how it would start with The Wild Wild West Mini-series. I made sure to order it from Westfield Comics. As far as I know it has never been collected. I wish some publisher would get it and publish it in a collected hardback edition.
You've never watched The Wild Wild West? You're dead to me.
Unless, of course, you're just yogically faking it (like Dr. Loveless once did).
