Deathlok and The Demon

These are two characters that I really want to see on the big screen.  Deathlok's appearance on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was low rent and underwhelming, he realy needs a proper chance to shine. Etrigan has never even had a chance at live action.  I bet James Gunn could have a lot of fun with him.

Ah, yes! I recognize that giant mutant spider; one of Kirby's Kreatures. But, if I recall correctly (from a reprint of the original story), that spider was blown up trying to eat a guided missile! So, Deathlok could give this one a case of equally terminal indigestion...at point-blank range.

Making Etrigan better at rhyming than prophesying.

"Esta arana gigante! Pero, no estoy arana. Estoy El Rey Prawn Pepe!"

Using that Kirby MTIO cover for Deathlok here was a brilliant choice. It's too bad Kirby never did a Deathlok series. I think the character fit his style, both visually and writing-wise- Deathlok's future world was a bit like a cross between Kamandi's world and OMAC's world, after all. And Kirby's writing style worked particularly well for quirky, mind-bendingly weird late '60s/early '70s sci-fi-film-style future worlds, as far as I'm concerned.

I hope Deathlok has a cybernetic heart immune to psychological shock. Because if I saw that critter coming at me like that, I am sure I would have immediate heart failure! (shudders!)
Also, I think Deathlok and OMAC would make a good combination; assuming you haven't already done that.

Just checked. Yeah, you did. Thought so. I never seem to think of such ideas before you. But I'll keep trying.

Now that you mention it, it is a li surprising that we haven't had at least Jason Blood in live action, let alone his demonic alter ego. Smallville would've been a really fun place to use him, but better yet… Legends of Tomorrow! They actually went to Camelot and meet the Knights of the Round Table! Yet, no Jason Blood and/or Etrigan? Oh well, no better time to resolve this, with Gunn in charge!

This giant spider, though, is from JOURNEY INNTO MYSTERY v.1/#73 (Oct. 1961).

Given that the original Deathlok had a bayonet that could magnetically adhere to one of his metal legs, the erstwhile Luther Manning (initially from Earth-691) could very well cut his way out of this arachnoid's stomach!

Well, you know what they say, Ben; "You can get more with a kind word and James Gunn than you can with just a kind word."
