The Club

I first was just going to put together a team of pre-historic heroes and then I noticed a common weapon that they all liked to use and this cover really started to come together.  It even made for the perfect name!  I can only assume that Alley Oop first decided to gather this team when he met Captain Caveman and Bamm Bamm's future Father in law in STF #3331...

Love the look. Mightor always seemed like a prehistoric Space Ghost to me. I can't remember ever seeing Anthro that young. Did Fred Hembeck draw him for something other than his regular book?
Also surprised there are no female club members. Not even one from Marvel??
With 5 clubs, will they be playing bridge?

this is just too great of a cover, Ross.....
love it....
just one tiny nit-pick, Fred is not Bam-Bam's father.....
he was Barney and Betty's adopted son as they couldn't have kids.....

Fred Flintstone isn't Bamm-bamm's father, Barney Rumble is. Although in one continuity, Bamm-Bamm did marry his daughter, Pebbles, so Fred is his father-in-law.
I do enjoy your work. Look forward to it every day.

Bamm-Bamm was adopted so maybe Fred was his biological father. Since Bamm-Bamm has white hair and super strength his biological mother could be Clea from the Marvel Universe who had a fling with Fred during a time travel adventure.

In the comics universe that I was creating, I had a somewhat deranged and sadistic hit man whose preferred weapon was a club. I called him Whack Job.

I really can't think of anything to add to this cover, though. The adults on this team are clearly in Bedrock, and so probably protect its environs from various threats, with Bamm-Bamm along whether they like it or not. I could see some future cover bringing them together with some time-traveler like Kazoo, Booster Gold, or the Doctor.

@Nobleman & King: Regardless of Bamm-Bamm's biological heritage, Ross did say at the outset that Fred is his future father-in-law.

Wonder what would happen if their clubs were accidentally mixed up while they were caught up in the heat of some battle.

All these nitpickers pointing out that Fred was just an in-law. They're acting like outlaws!

P.S.---I can't wait to see what you have in mind for STF #4000 @ April 16, 2023! :-)

What no Dino Boy for this group?

Also I seem to recall Mighty Mightor's galpal Shana used a costumed identity for awhile. You could've used her for a token female member. There's also Captain Caveman's son & the two cavemen from Penelope Pitstop's race cartoon from way back when.

Mightor's gal-pal was _Sheera_ , daughter of Chief Pondo!

Shana "The She-Devil" O'Hara is the wife of Kevin "Ka-Zar" Plunder.

As for a female member of the Club, there's always Jane, the infamous 'Fat Broad' from the comic strip B.C.

@Futabakun: Brilliant! That way, Ross could have her telling Rocket Raccoon: "I am NOT Groo!"

I mean, let's face it. She does bear more-than-a slight resemblance to everyone's favorite clumsy barbarian.

We also could get "Fat Broad" Jane versus Groo, or with Tarzan, or with George of the Jungle.

Oh, and one could also team up George of the Jungle with the Doom Patrol's Robotman, for a Brendan Fraser tribute cover.

Carycomic, I knew her name but the website I used for the "correct" spelling of her name had it as I wrote it. I wasn't implying the use Marvel's Shanna in any way. She had slipped my half awake mind at the time. :)

Then, by all means; over-caffeinate! ;-D
