When I first featured these two together, it was a more quiet and thoughtful adventure in STF #3158. I figured that it was time they saw a little more action with one another. This would actually be a decent battle. Rex Mason's power set could really give old jade jaws a run for his money.

Very nice!Idea and cover are "A". Hulk is going up against a hero with no need to fear him. May not " control" him, but might actually have a way to defeat him. Rex could seep into Hulk as any of a variety of gasses or liquids to affect him. This story has a LOT of possibilities. Fantastic.
So, they're both competing for the Orb of Atum, huh? Would that make it an "Atumic" war?

Shouldn't Birdman have been the more logical opponent, then?
I'd forgotten that Metamorpho had a connection to Egyptian mythology. How about featuring him with another Egyptian-connected hero -- namely, Moon Knight?
If you asked me to come up with a list of DC heroes who could go toe-to-toe with (and potentially beat) the Hulk, I probably wouldn't have even thought about Metamorpho... but it would make a great fight and has so much potential as story....!! Great job as usual, Ross...!
