Brother Power The Geek and Brother Voodoo

I've been meaning to use Brother Power for years, and am just now finally getting to it.  He's a pretty obscure character, but unique enough that it's too bad he doesn't get more appearances.  Is there a place in today's cynical world for a flower child hero?

Brother power and Man Thing. Talk about a GRIMM beginning.

Oh, this is definitely your best title pun, yet! :-)

In answer to your question, though, I say...why not? Earth 1 had a flower child POTUS for a time!

He's right, Ross. You haven't used poor Prez in 13 years!

How many heroic (or antiheroic) characters are there named "Brother" something? Are these the only two? If there are more, they could all get together and form The Brotherhood!

And to revive an old suggestion: Mr. E and Mr. T. They could find themselves on Sesame Street; or, Access could Amalgamate them into E.T., which would draw the attention of Agent K and Agent J.

@Bob Greenwade: wouldn't Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants and/or the Brain's Brotherhood of Evil object? To say nothing of Brother Blood?

Then there's Charlton's E-Man, Harvey's B-Man, Marvel's D-Man and X-Man... and at DC, Animal Man was originally billed as A-Man. Throw in Y, the Last Man, just because.

The art styles of these two is one of the best matches I've seen. Nicely done, sir!

@Bob Buethe: I agree, man!

Hah, a team-up that Fred Hembeck would probably love.

Way back when (circa 1975), Hembeck was in the audience for a convention panel with Marv Wolfman and Len Wein. Marvel and DC had just announced their first crossover comic. A kid in the audience asked why they were having Spider-Man team up with Superman. One of the writers jokingly responded, "It was either that or the Brother Voodoo/Brother Power team-up".

The joke stuck with Hembeck, and when he started doing comics for Marvel Age, he put Brother Voodoo in them, which were essentially the only appearances the character made for years, and a running joke of Hembeck's. (Though he honestly likes the guy, an obscure character like that made for good comedy fodder.)

So, yeah. A team-up that Fred Hembeck would probably love. (If it were real, he might well insist on drawing it himself.)

It's a shame Brother Geek and Hawk & Dove (the originals) never teamed up. They personify the '60s more than any I can think of. With Prez tossed in for good measure would've been a blast. Though talk of DC/Marvel team-ups makes me now want Angar the Screamer and Aquarius (even though he was still Wundarr even into the disco age) tossed in for good measure.

I'd be in favor of that latter depiction, DD. In fact, I have the perfect Bob Greenwade-worthy title for it.

"The Rage of Aquarius!"
