Captain Marvel Vs. Godzilla

Dwayne Johnson seems determined to have Black Adam and Superman battle it out on the big screen.  While that would be cool, and has happened in the comics, I still think a fight with Shazam should take precedence.  That said, given the delays in Shazam: Fury of the Gods, the rapidly aging "kids" in the cast who would be in their late teens and 20s by the time shooting begins, and the ongoing shakeups at the DC Film division, I have serious doubts that a third Shazam film will be made at all.

I echo the sentiments of all the previous readers. It's undeniably worthy of being an actual movie theater lobby card! Sadly, I also have to agree with your hunch concerning the third and final installment of the hoped-for "Shazam" trilogy.

I fear we have a better chance of finally seeing Peter Weller in that Buckaroo Banzai sequel!

Interesting that you should have the Big G going up against the Big Red Cheese...whose trigger word contains the initial of the Lord of Mount Olympus in Greek mythology.

Back in "Godzilla: Rage Across Time #2," the former took on the entire Olympian Pantheon in ancient Greece. With Zeus being the sole survivor! Unfortunately, defeating Godzilla permanently deprived him of his bio-electrical powers, leaving him only his immortality.

Zeus was reminiscing about all this in Pompeii when Vesuvius erupted in 79 A.D. And three guesses who emerged from the volcano? :-)

@Ross: Which inspires me to wonder if you might someday consider doing Godzilla vs. The Black Dragon from REIGN OF FIRE?

I was just thinking last night that it was about time we saw Micro Force face off against Godzilla, or maybe Galactus. Starro or the Decepticons (especially Devastator) would be possible too.

Why would Superman fight the wizard Shazam? Unless you mean the character Billy Batson turns into, which the first movie made pretty clear isn't named Shazam, even if they didn't quite decide on a name.

"Hands in... say my name."
"Billy?"
"Okay, not MY name, but... say the name that I say!"
"Oh... SHAZAM!!!"

Not to be confused with that old Orkan expression: "Shazbot!"

Btw: anybody else catch the sub-titled original version of GODZILLA VS. MECHAGODZILLA on TCM, last night? One has to wonder if the Black Hole Ape people came from the vicinity of Orion. ;-)

Shazbot sounds like the name of a clumsy robot created to defend Fawcett City when Captain Marvel is off on a mission, artwork done by C.C.Beck. A lost golden age story.

How about a Superman robot reprogrammed by Bizarro Numero Uno who thinks he's doing "bad deed for Big Red Cheese"?

I'd shell out sixty cents for that! :-)
