The Flash and Sub-Mariner

The Flash on the WB is finally set to air its final episodes with the upcoming shortened final season.  Like most, I feel the show started strong, but lost its way and has become pretty formulaic.  Every episode seems to have one character doubting themselves until three quarters the way in when another character gives them a pep talk saying "believe in yourself", and they break out of their funk.  Hopefully now that they have an end in sight, the writing will step up a notch and Barry Allen and company will have a fitting finale.

The "B.I.Y. Formula" has been pretty much in effect since that ill-advised subplot, during the Thinker story arc, where Barry allowed himself to stay framed in prison. Just to expose the corrupt warden farming out inmates as human guinea pigs! That minor digression was worthy only of a two-parter, at best.

And that's why I immediately and permanently ceased watching the series. I had reached my disappointment quota.

On a somewhat lighter note; was it Krang or Grodd who abducted Messrs. Messner, Loebs, and Laroque from the credit parameters at the bottom of your summation? ;-)

WOW! Besides a great storyline and interesting team-up, you've given us two Friday Sub-Mariner appearances in a row! Can we make Fridays with Namor a thing? Or as Ben Grimm might say, "Fridays with Fish-Face"!

I thought Fish-face was a TMNT foe?

P.S. @ DSNOKC: Namor was also a cover subject on Friday 6/10/22 and Friday 7/1/22. So, you've might have won half the battle!

As far as the final season of Flash, I hope they have an episode near the end with plenty of cameos. Have Barry race through time and see Oliver, Kara, Cisco, the Legends, Black Lightning, and the rest. Not a crossover perse, but an homage to the last decade of the Arrow/Berlanti-verse (or at least an acknowledgement).

I was annoyed in first season when we saw the real Harrison Wells and his wife be murdered by Reverse Flash. Eobard also told Wells that his project was fated to work correctly in a few years but he was going to change everything. Eobard created his own Reverse Flash-point which the series was built on. The whole timeline was created as Eobard came into the past and changed history. All those ripple effects and major changes.

Just glad this cover wasn't done during Ross' early days. Hate to think of this cover being labeled with "Wings to go!"

@Det. Tobor: maybe he was too "chicken" to go with that title.

Sorry, Ross! Couldn't resist.

Namor is King of Atlantis, but I forget which one: Tritonis or Poseidonis...?

@Arcadia: in the Ross-verse, they're probably both vassal city-states of the original Atlantis (which is what the Avenging Son rules).
