Shazam: Fury of the Gods has been delayed yet again. While Warner Bros/Discovery seems to have finally found their version of Kevin Feige in Dan Lin, they don't seem to know what to do with the DC films already in development under the previous leadership. I say stop dragging things out and release them already, using the end of The Flash as a hard reboot - then just start over from scratch.

Does Mr Mind use Apple products?
Could Cap be vulnerable to "Jedi" mind control? To revert to Billy and stay like that?
A small change? Thor dating Power Girl?? And how would She-Hulk do dating-wise with Green Lantern?
"Start over from scratch."
Wasn't that the philosophy used for the ill-advised reboot of the Fantastic Four? So, my philosophy is...please, no! Not again!!
On a lighter note; I came across a humorous observation on the Internet concerning some lesser known Darths who dropped the "in-" prefix from their titles. Here are my favorites.
Darth Domitable
Darth Satiable
Darth Vincible
Darth Tolerable
Darth Continent
Darth Justice
Darth Ept
Darth Kjet-printer.
Yeah, something needs to be done to fix the hot mess DC and Warner have created for themselves.
@Anon: A cosplay I now am planning is Darth Fester.
@Bob Greenwade: And Mr. Mind should change his name to Darth Fector!
Which reminds me; I wonder if Mr. Mind might have been hiding out in Khan's cerebral cortex way back in STF #2490?
Cool cover. Does anyone know why DC's Captain Marvel is now referred to as Shazam, which is the name of the wizard who originally empowered Billy Batson? It's annoying. Especially since DC's Captain Marvel has had the name since the early 40s. Anybody have an answer?

Anon@2:25: The answer I've heard most often is that TPTB at DC felt that the hero of a series should have the same name as the series. Which IMO is silly; "Star Trek," "Peanuts," "Doctor Who," "The Far Side," "The Big Bang Theory," are all popular features that aren't named for a person, place, or thing in them.
I think it's just that they decided they didn't want a hero named "Marvel." Which I can understand, even though I don't approve.
Clarification on Darth Fester:
Addams.
Memo from the Left Field: since Halloween is only two (frighteningly short) months away, how about a team-up yet to be done even once?
"The Ghost-Who-Walks vs. The Walking Dead!"
TWD is tough to use as 99% of the images I find are B&W
Make it a movie theater lobby card simulation! Billy Zane as the Phantom backing up Michonne and/or Morgan from the TV series. :-)
The story behind Shazam/Capt Marvel is a bit more complicated than that. In the 40s, the big red cheese outsold Superman, and DC/National Periodicals brought their legal might to bear on Fawcett, and basically sued them out of existence. The character thus ceased to exist in the early 50s, and the way was clear for Marvel Comics to recycle the name in the 60s. Around 1972, DC revived the Marvel Family, but had to call the comic "Shazam" because Capt Marvel was in use by their rival. (And perhaps they didn't want people to confuse the brands.) The Marvel family continued to be called Capt Marvel, Mary Marvel, etc., in-comic, but on covers (even after their comic ended and they were folded into other comics like World's Finest) they were referred to as Shazam. (Same thing for the Shazam TV seriesfrom 1974-1977.)
Eventually, after decades of this, DC somehow decided it was "simpler" to just call the character Shazam.
Was it a bone-headed decision? Yes, definitely. But it didn't come out of the blue. It was preceded by decades of somewhat convoluted legal history.
@Bob Greenwade: Ah! As in, Uncle Fester. Gotcha. :-)
