Power Man and Iron Fist outfits from the 70's and 80's may seem silly and dated to some, but since those were the looks they had when I was discovering comics, I'll always like them. I hope that when the Heroes for Hire show up in the MCU, they'll at least have a nod to their classic appearances. They looked fine on the Neflix shows, but I think they could have been a little more comics accurate.

Iron Fist and Power Man.
These heroes were hired to bring in Etrigan?
Who could be so foolhardy, I wonder?
Be it Luthor or Dr. Doom, that was surely a blunder!
For these three, together, will tear that one asunder.
There was a good nod to Luke's early costume in episode one of Luke Cage, though we never really saw Danny in a good Iron Fist outfit. I'm hoping Marvel goes ahead and brings back Finn Jones for the role; the character was finally on track to becoming his familiar self at the end of Season 2, as was Luke, and a Heroes for Hire series on Disney+ could make both happen.
I know Etrigan can "take" the both without a sweat, but when has he ever offered funds to anyone for anything?? It would be interesting to see what he would give them.
Then again, would Luke fighting "his" Demon be like The Demon fighting The Hulk?
Nice choices of original pics! They all look great together!
Another great matchup! Nice job!!
Ross, have you ever had the experience of thinking "such-and-such would be a great mash-up cover", or a great superficial gag premise for a team-up - only to discover the cover or the story had already be done as a straight-up idea in an actual book already?
I'm thinking of a couple of examples from inside one publishing house, where I know you generally have characters crossing brand lines.
The examples I'm thinking of are like
- Etrigan the Demon teaming up with General Jeb Stuart and the crew of the Haunted Tank to fight zombie Nazis in 1985
- pointed-beard mistaken identity run-in between Green Arrow and Deathstroke The Terminator
- pointed-beard run-in between Green Arrow and Travis Morgan
...
I suppose there have been some actual crossovers between companies that touch on some of the tropes.
Certainly, JLA/Avengers touched on a couple of them. Green Arrow/Hawkeye similarities, Rick Jones/Snapper Carr.
...and there was someone's parody of a crossover, with all of the heroes brawling, except Aquaman & Namor having tea and comparing notes on their lives, kingdoms, & wives.
I stick to multi company crossovers to avoid that situation.

That was Marvel's, in either 'What The?' or an all-humour issue of 'What If?'
IIRC that was also the story in which the arrivals when the Avengers were assembling at the start included a red-clad witch and a hollow-voiced "pale, ghostly figure"... but in the panel immediately after the one in which one of the Avengers already present commented on this we saw that instead of being Wanda & the Vision -- as could reasonably have been expected -- they were Wendy & Casper who'd decided to volunteer their help! (One of the Avengers said that the situation was already complicated enough, & asked them to go away again.)
A short rhyme worthy of Etrigan.
