I'll be interested to check out the new Black Adam trailer that is released later today. Some of the artistic choices this movie has been making seem off to me - bald Black Adam, Dr. Fate with no eyes on his helmet, Hawkman's garish red and gold costume - so I am hoping to be won over. A good story can go a long way to overriding any aesthetic problems that there may be.
With the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie underway, hopefully we will get a look at Will Poulter as Adam Warlock soon.

Hawkman's red & gold costume is accurate, it's from the 2nd half of the Hawkworld series but it's not my favorite look. The look I like the best for Hawkman is the one after Zero Hour.
I just saw the trailer. I think it is excellent! I didn't expect that character to show up in the movie!
Wouldn't be a bit surprised if they made Mr T as the old Wizard. Next? Atom, Adam, and Eve at a dam on New Year's eve?
The Helmet of Nabu in the movie is probably meant to have gold-tinted one-way glass in the eye holes. Just as the Joker's original red hood had crimson one-way lenses. It's a plot device that goes back all the way to the pulp magazine adventures of the Depression-era Moon Man!
If it's magical it doesn't really need eye holes. It may have magically have displays similar to the inside of Iron Man's helmet.
Good counter-point! :-)
If it is magical it won't need displays. He could either see right through it or get images in his mind
I know that Hawkman has worn that suit in the comics, I just think out of all the looks to choose from, that was the weakest,
I get why Fatye doesn't necessarily need eyeholes, I just think the helmet looks off without them
The Trailer underwhelmed me, looked like a generic Rock movie, wish he had at leas worn a hairpiece.
So did anyone like today's cover? I was happy with how it turned out.
It is an excellent cover, and an intriguing match up between Adams. The artwork blends extremely well.
I agree. The cosmic glow being given off by Adam Warlock is suitably bright. It even makes Khem-Adam (to use the ancient Egyptian) look bald!
P.S.---I just saw the trailer on line. And it could've been worse, Ross. If this were the Golden Age Hawkman, he could have been wearing that flight suit that comes with the yellow luchador mask that he wore in all his Silver Age appearances!
Insert "horrified shudder" icon, here.
I've been trying to make a "second Adam" pun, until I realized that few people here would understand the (Biblical) reference.
But yeah, Ross, this is a cool cover, and an interesting repurposing of Warlock's pose. I think I saw the original cover with that, and if I'm remembering correctly he was on the offense, not the defense.
And I, too, am eager to see what the MCU's Adam Warlock actually looks like. I understand that principal shooting just ended, so hopefully it won't be super long.
Good Eye, Bob you're right about that Warlock pose. I got lucky and the images blended together well.
Definitely a good cover. Points to an intriguing story!
Aces Ross!
@Bob: I'll be pleasantly surprised if he remains looking like Tyrannus of Subterranea with a lightning bolt logo.
This cover makes me think it'd be cool to see you do an "Amalgam" style mash up set of characters for one of the anniversary issues, because "Black Adam Warlock" would make for an interesting character. Maybe have him as part of a team with John Strangentine, Zatanna Maximoff, Palpatine "The Phantom Menace Stranger" and Etrigan the Shaman as a sort of Magical Mash Up themed team.
That's maybe a long winded way of saying, I loved this cover because it really inspired me.
@Greggory: Ross hasn't done a lot of Amalgam-style characters, Iron Beetle being one of most notable (and my personal favorite). When Matt Murdock got a Green Lantern ring, I started calling him "Green Devil," and when Patsy Walker started working with her uncle Kit, I nicknamed her "Hellphantom," but of course those were my own monikers for them. Since he's basically limited to recoloring heroes for the purpose (with maybe little things like switching up logos or costume accessories or putting one character's head on another's body), he probably could make Zatanna into the Scarlet Witch as you suggest, give Nick Fury the power of Shazam (Colonel Marvel?), or turn Jimmy Olson into Captain America. I'm not sure Moonbat would be beyond the realm of possibility, either, with a little help from Access.
Wasn't 'Zatanna Maximoff' an actual Amalgam Comics character, as 'the White Witch', in the 'Dr Strangefate' comic?
@Simreeve: close! It was Wanda "The White Witch" Zatara. An amalgam of Zatanna, the Scarlet Witch, and the White Queen. Sort of a mystical Catwoman to Dr. Strangefate's Batman.

Thank you for clearing that up. Unfortunately my copies of the Amalgam comics were lost when I had to downsize quite drastically a few years ago.
@Bob, maybe some head swapping/advanced photoshooping skills could make it work. Or, perhaps Ross could do a Patreon boost tier to fund raise enough to commission a fan artist or two to provide for a special event like ST#4000.
@carycomic & @simreeve
Thanks for the refresher on the Amalgam stuff. It's been years since I read those. Also, I really wish Marvel and DC would make something like that happen again.
Sad to say, I think we stand a comparatively better chance of seeing Red Anvil Comics finally publishing War Of The Independents #'s 5 and 6 before 1/1/2023.
Follow up story Adam vs Adam vs Adam (Strange).
