Wolverine and Katana

There has been talk of a "David Ayer Cut" of the first Suicide Squad film, since much of his original vision was left on the cutting room floor.  Most are curious about the extra scenes featuring The Joker that we saw in promotional materials for the film, but never made it to the final product.  I'm most curious about whether there is more footage of Katana.  She looked great in the movie, but barely got to do anything or be fleshed out as a character.  I'd like to think that she was written with more depth than what we saw in the theatrical cut of the movie.

Katana was sorely underused in the film. At least, she received some focus on Arrow. But she deserves her own film. Or TV series.

The Black Lightning tv show should do a few episodes with the original Outsiders (BL, Katana, Halo, GeoForce, and Metamorpho). Some of those characters have been referenced before so they can use Crisis or the multiverse to get proper versions.

Maybe she committed seppuku over being depicted in _any_ version of the film!

Excellent action shot! :-D

Makes me hope you can do one featuring Mr. Worf vs. Guttlekraw (or some other green troll) from ELFQUEST.

@Anon@8:36: Well, Katana has already appeared in the Arrowverse (in several episodes of Arrow itself), so she could show up in Freeland; and GeoForce was introduced in Black Lightning last season. I don't know if Halo's been referenced at all, but I'm pretty sure Metamorpho hasn't.

I don't think that that roster will happen more than briefly, though, if at all. For one thing, the show's theme tends toward Black issues, and (except for an unnecessary "Black While Driving" scene in the pilot) it does it quite well, and putting Jeff in charge of a team that's predominantly non-Black kind of goes against that. For another, he does already have a good team of his own, with his daughters, their loves, and a few others.

@Cary: That gives me an idea. What if Worf, having retired from Federation service (or perhaps as an approved sideline during his Starfleet days), were to form his own security company? Who'd be on that team? Power Man? Booster Gold? The Knight Watchman?

Thunder and Grace were members of Arsenal's group of Outsiders, and the kid with electrical/machine control powers kinda stands in for Indigo. Add Nyssa Al'Ghul in for Arsenal and Katana because they sees Jeff as closest to Oliver (compared to Flash, Supes, and Bats) when the League of Assassins pops back up and you got a team. It would be interesting to see the dynamic with Jeff as a member and not the boss of a team.
And I hope, after Crisis, BL gets out of town a little more often this season.

@Bob: there should only be one other on his team.

Duncan McLeod of the Clan McLeod!

Can you imagine the two of them going up against the Immortal Mr. Flint? Or rescuing Scotty (of STAR TREK: TOS fame) from abduction by the Nightsisters of Dathomir?

@Cary: Sounds doable. Scotty could be living on the Federation colony world of Kaldos (modeled after 24th century Scotland) when the Nightsisters kidnap him, and take him to their home world "in a galaxy far far away," for mating purposes. Which raises the question...

Would Scotty even want to be rescued? ;-)

I did think of one other character who could join Worf Security: Autolycus.

Or, Autolycus could join Catwoman and Ezekiel Jones (of The Librarians) as the Thieves of Honor! The main trouble here is that I'm not sure that there are any good comics-style images of Autolycus and Ezekiel. On the other hand, if there are, I'm sure there are plenty of other potential candidates for this group -- like maybe Gambit.

Wasn't there a D.E. crossover, some years back, between XWP and AOD guest-starring Autolycus and Ash Williams?

I always thought Wolverine and Katana would be attracted to each other if they met.

The last time Wolverine was attracted to a woman as feisty as him, it was Witchblade. And even then it was the result of magically meddlesome matchmaking! Or, so goes the urban legend.
