The Flash and The Punisher

Grant Gustin has indicated that there is likely at least one more costume upgrade needed for The Flash, and that he is a fan of the classic yellow/gold boots.  I'm not sure what's taken so long, but I hope that he means it and we will finally get the full Flash look from the comics in live action.  I'm not holding my breath waiting to see The Punisher with bright white boots and gloves when he joins the MCU though, somehow I don't think that's ever going to happen!

The toy figure in the future Flash museum had yellow boots which raised the question "Why?" if the tv version never fully matched the comic's look. I could only hope that it meant that one day we could stop "Wondering Where the YELLOW went" even if Those boots were made for more than just walking.

Don't worry about the look of the Punisher's gloves..After all look how good Green Lantern's white gloves were in his live action movie. They'll be Moon Knight white.

Interesting camera angle. How long did it take to match all that up?

Loved the scene with the Punisher holding such a great weapon on the Flash. Also loved the follow up with the Punisher fully tied up, bent over and wearing the sign 'I'm not a horse's ass I just act like one.'

King of speed took Castle. check.

I could see the Punisher wearing white gloves and boots early in story and then have them blood stained and he replaces them and never returns to white.

When Barry has not only yellow boots but little wings on his ankles, that will be perfection.

As for the Punisher, if the MCU's version ever has white boots and gloves, they'll be white like what Caity Lotz wears as White Canary. That white never made much sense to me anyway, though; like Batman, Punisher strikes me as the kind of guy who'd only wear any kind of embellishment for a practical reason -- the skull is a symbol to strike fear, but why the gloves and boots?

As for today's cover: Nice work on the composition; it looks like a unit piece. And I can see much of this story being devoted to Barry explaining to Frank about Flashpoint.

A clever plot device, Ross.

The Punisher evidently keeps his war against organized crime going because he wants them to take him with them. That way, he's not guilty of committing suicide, directly! Which Old School Catholics (like Castle) consider the only unforgivable sin.

But, since organized crime has proven ineffective at permanently reuniting him with his family, the next best way to end the vicious cycle is to change his tragic family history. Hence, his gunpoint conscription of the Flash! Although, with the latter's super-speed, Castle would naturally not remain armed for long.

If Ash Ketchum's pikachu ever learns to microwave food, will Fred Flintstone be "joining" Team Rocket in trying to steal it?

More likely Fred will wind up looking like Barney after the time Mr. Rubble plugged an AC guitar into a DC outlet.*

*Fred's classic guest-appearance on "ShinRock w/Jimmy O'Neilstone."

While I appreciate the time you spent putting this Flash-y cover together, I wonder the purpose of the newspaper in Frank's hand. Something special?

As far as appearances go, my concern is what happens when She-Hulk goes live. Will she need to have a massive body like cousin Bruce? If not, how will they explain her strength level if her mass is much less than Hulk's? Wonder Woman at least had a god /alien for a pop for her powers.

@DT: It's probably THE DAILY BUGLE back-issue that features the day and date his family was killed (by the hit men who tried to make their gangland execution look like a daytime mugging-gone-wrong in Central Park).

@Anonymous: in that case, he'd be better off carjacking the BTF DeLorean from Doc Brown and Marty McFly. Far less chance of being hog-tied in the blink of an eye!

Poetry not intended.
