Adam Strange Vs. Darth Vader

Apparently Adam Strange was the star of a DC Showcase animated short released earlier this year.  I'm not sure which main feature it was attached to, but I am going to have to seek it out.  I have seen a few clips from it shown on Youtube, and it looks pretty good.  Previous versions of Adam Strange in animation have been fun but somewhat light hearted.  This looks like a serious straight adaptation and I look forward to seeing the complete version.

This is only part One of a Two-Part epic, so make sure you come back tomorrow for the exciting conclusion!

The Adam Strange short was on the most recent Justice League movie on Blu ray.

I'll definitely be back tomorrow. This is a fascinating pairing. Have you ever put them together before?

A very well-done cover with two very well-done pieces of artwork. A special shout-out goes to whichever artist did the Adam Strange portion; the cityscape looks alien and futuristic without looking impractical or silly, and even Adam's helmet fin looks like something that might actually go on a helmet (as a symbolic or ceremonial kind of adornment).

No, finally got around to it.

Tom King was doing an Adam Strange maxi-series, not sure where it stands with the COVID outbreak.

Keep it up man, you're a light in a dark time.

Never knew Greg H did Adam S. Where is this originally from? Beautiful.
From your info, just saw the piece on youtube. Hate the storyline. DC: Secondary character we can tear down and rebuild a whole different way. No problem. And we can have him fighting with Hawkman's world.

Like Batman...too cerebral? Too dull? Change him. Break him. Make him more exciting. He's only a piece of fiction. Nothing matters with him.

Don't agree at all.

I always got a kick out of Adam Strange's Silver Age adventures. The jet pack reminded me of Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon. And the helmet crest reminded me of the Golden Age Starman! But, while Adam was a polyglot genius, just as quick with his wits as he was at drawing and firing his ray gun, the latter skill will, of course, be of no use against Darth Vader.

STAR WARS fans saw that for themselves in "The Empire Strikes Back!"

I don't read a lot of comics these days, but I picked up the first issue of Strange Adventures. I highly recommend it.

What will the Empire do with EARTH's planetary system "next door"?; Rann is in Alpha Centauri's system.

Kanjar Ro would probably lend a hand in trying to take over the Earth. He bangs the Gamma Gong to immobilize everybody on the planet so that Vader can use the old Jedi mind trick, via Hector Hammond, with almost no trouble. Maybe even on Superman (using Silver Age jewel kryptonite)!

An open note to myself more than anything else:

Were the Klutz Commandos going to happen here, they could also include Jar Jar Binks.

@Anon735: Thank you SO much! Now I'll be spending the whole rest of the night picturing Yoda carrying an alpenstock...and wearing lederhosen

Barry, Barry,Barry. As Ollie has said, What did you do now? Flashpoint is a piece of history. people know you can change the past and screw up their lives. Earth 1 gets erased then comes back, but altered. Adam Strange has you to thank for his current situation.
Mind control - check. aliens- No question. The Force? may--beee.
This a sequel to #2832? could be. Adam may find a weakness to the force. That's what he does. not easily, but he does...so there. If there's any music for his theme song it's gotta be "To Dream the Impossible Dream". That's his quest.

Hey Bob Greenwade !!
You hit right on target for why I loved (and still love) Bouncing Boy, but not quite the bullseye. .......... . Sadly, since Chuck is not (the last I knew) in the current Legion continuity, that's not likely.

The Bouncer is BACK!! tho Chuck is now Charles as of LSH #5.

As far as fighting against Thanagar, that has been a plot point in the comics for several years, ever since the "Planet Heist" miniseries by Andy Diggle & Pascual Ferry in 2004-05.

Second issue just came out June 16/17.

@Horsefeathers: Oh, really! With or without his power?

He'll only have it after being rejuvenated to infancy. Forcing him to join the Legion of Substitute Heroes as Bouncing Baby Boy!*

*Sorry, everybody. I just couldn't resist. ;-D
